System Requirements Document for Insights

Introduction

The purpose of this System Requirements Document (SRD) is to outline the requirements for the "Insights" project. This document provides a comprehensive overview of the system, functional requirements, user personas, core user flows, visual design, and other essential aspects to guide the development and implementation of the project.

System Overview

The "Insights" project is designed to provide users with a comprehensive platform for gathering and analyzing various types of business insights. The system will include features for discovering ideas, analyzing market trends, spying on competitors, building business plans, managing marketing strategies, handling finances, and engaging with investors. The platform will also include a library for storing reports and documents, as well as settings and profile management for users.

Functional Requirements as Story Points

• As a User, I should be able to view and interact with the Dashboard to access different categories such as Discover, Spy, Build, Marketing, Finance, Investor, Library, Settings, Profile, Admin, and Sign Out.
• As a User, I should be able to explore Idea Insights, Market Insights, and Trends under the Discover category.
• As a User, I should be able to analyze Competitors, Ads, Traffic, SEO, Pricing, and Tech Stack under the Spy category.
• As a User, I should be able to create a Business Plan, MVP, and Roadmap under the Build category.
• As a User, I should be able to manage Landing Pages, Ads, SEO, and Email campaigns under the Marketing category.
• As a User, I should be able to track Revenue, Costs, and ROI under the Finance category.
• As a User, I should be able to prepare a Pitch Deck and manage Funding under the Investor category.
• As a User, I should be able to access Recent, Favorites, and Reports in the Library.

Signature Design Concept

The homepage of the "Insights" platform will feature an interactive galaxy map where each star represents a different category or feature of the platform. Users can click on a star to open a task card related to that category, drag to rotate the galaxy, and hover to highlight connections between different insights. This concept will be implemented using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei for a 3D interactive experience.

Landing Hero Motion Brief

The landing hero will depict a dynamic transformation of raw data inputs into actionable insights. The animation will show data points gathering around a central "insight engine," which processes them into clear, visualized outcomes. This will be a continuous 10-second loop using motion/react for smooth transitions and interactions. The animation will be responsive, with a reduced-motion state for accessibility.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The intended interaction model for the landing page is "parallax," providing a layered depth experience as users scroll. Decorative layers will translate at different speeds, enhancing the storytelling aspect of the platform. This model is ideal for creating a visually rich first impression.

Non-Functional Requirements

• The system must ensure secure access control for all users.
