1. Introduction

NeighbourOS is a comprehensive mobile application designed to enhance community living in apartment complexes. It provides a platform for residents to manage various aspects of community life, from event planning to issue reporting and community engagement.

2. System Overview

NeighbourOS aims to streamline communication and management within apartment communities. It offers features such as event planning, issue reporting, community voting, and more, all accessible through a user-friendly mobile interface.

3. Functional Requirements

  • As a Resident, I should be able to view the Apartment Dashboard to access all community features.
  • As a Resident, I should be able to plan and RSVP for community events.
  • As a Resident, I should be able to participate in community voting and polls.
  • As a Resident, I should be able to report and track water issues.
  • As a Resident, I should be able to report electrical issues.
  • As a Resident, I should be able to file disturbance and noise complaints.

  • Resident logs into the app -> accesses the dashboard -> selects a feature (e.g., event planning) -> completes the task (e.g., RSVP for an event).

7. Signature Design Concept

The NeighbourOS app features an interactive community map on the homepage. Users can click on different buildings to access specific community features. Each building represents a module (e.g., events, issues, amenities). The map is animated using framer-motion to provide smooth transitions and interactions. Hovering over a building reveals quick actions, and clicking opens detailed views. This concept creates an engaging and intuitive navigation experience.
