System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: wise-website

1. Introduction

The wise-website is a web-based platform designed to simplify the management of vegetable selling and purchasing records for farmers, vendors, and buyers. Developed for docomo in India, this system aims to streamline inventory tracking, sales monitoring, and cost management while providing administrative oversight.

This document outlines the system requirements for the wise-website, including functional and non-functional specifications, user personas, design concepts, and technical considerations.

2. System Overview

The wise-website will serve as a centralized platform for managing vegetable transactions. It will cater to two primary user roles: Admin and Users (farmers, vendors, or buyers). The system will allow users to log in, record transactions, view summaries, and generate reports. Admins will have additional privileges to manage users, oversee records, and access analytics.

The platform will be optimized for Indian users, incorporating locale-specific defaults such as INR currency, IST timezone, and language preferences.

3. Functional Requirements

User Stories:

Admin Role:

  • As Admin, I should be able to create, edit, and delete user accounts.
  • As Admin, I should be able to view all transaction records across users.
  • As Admin, I should be able to generate analytics reports (e.g., total sales, purchase trends).
  • As Admin, I should be able to manage system settings (e.g., currency, timezone).

User Role:

  • As User, I should be able to register and log in to the system.
  • As User, I should be able to record vegetable sales and purchases.
  • As User, I should be able to view my transaction history.
  • As User, I should be able to generate summaries of my sales and purchases.

4. User Personas

Color Palette:

The wise-website will feature a fresh, earthy theme inspired by vegetables and nature.

  • Background: #F5F5DC (Beige - reminiscent of soil and natural tones)
  • Surface: #FFFFFF (Pure White - clean and professional)
  • Text: #2E8B57 (Sea Green - calming and organic)
  • Accent: #FFA07A (Light Salmon - vibrant and eye-catching for buttons and highlights)
  • Muted Tones: #A9A9A9 (Dark Gray - for secondary elements and placeholders)

6. Signature Design Concept

Concept: Interactive Vegetable Market

The homepage of wise-website will feature an interactive vegetable market scene. Users will be greeted by a vibrant, animated marketplace with stalls displaying various vegetables. Each stall will represent a key feature of the website (e.g., "Record Transactions," "View History," "Analytics").

Key Features:

  • Animations: Vegetables sway gently as if in a breeze, and clicking on a stall zooms into its functionality.
  • Transitions: Smooth transitions between stalls, with subtle sound effects like rustling leaves or market chatter.
  • Micro-interactions: Hovering over a vegetable reveals its name and a fun fact (e.g., "Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin C!").
  • Color Shifts: The background subtly changes from dawn to dusk based on the user's local time, creating a dynamic experience.

This design will make the website memorable and engaging, while reinforcing its connection to the agricultural theme.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The system should handle up to 10,000 concurrent users without significant latency.
  • Scalability: The platform must support future expansion, including additional features and user roles.
  • Security: Implement robust authentication and encryption to protect user data.
  • Localization: Default settings should align with Indian standards (INR currency, IST timezone).
  • Accessibility: Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards for accessibility.

8. Tech Stack
