Project Name: winter-ecommerce

1. Introduction

The winter-ecommerce project is an e-commerce platform designed specifically for a cloud kitchen business. This platform will cater to businesses and organizations looking to place bulk food orders for corporate events, parties, and other gatherings. The goal is to provide a seamless and user-friendly experience for clients to customize menus, schedule deliveries, and process payments efficiently.

This document outlines the system requirements for the winter-ecommerce platform, ensuring that it meets the needs of its target audience and aligns with the business goals of Diya Trivedi, based in India. Locale-specific considerations such as currency (INR) and time zone (IST) have been incorporated into the design and functionality of the system.

2. System Overview

The winter-ecommerce platform will serve as a dedicated online portal for businesses to place bulk food orders from a cloud kitchen. The system will provide features such as menu customization, delivery scheduling, real-time order tracking, and secure payment processing.

The platform will be accessible via web browsers and optimized for both desktop and mobile devices. It will include an intuitive user interface, robust backend infrastructure, and scalable database solutions to handle high-volume transactions.

Key objectives of the system include:

  • As a Business User, I should be able to create an account and log in securely.

Concept: Interactive Food Carousel with Dynamic Order Summary

The homepage of winter-ecommerce will feature an Interactive Food Carousel that allows users to explore the menu visually. Each menu item will appear as a high-resolution image card that users can swipe or scroll through horizontally.

  • Hover Interaction: Hovering over a card will reveal additional details such as ingredients, portion sizes, and customization options.
  • Dynamic Order Summary: As users add items to their cart, a floating order summary panel will update in real-time, showing the total cost, delivery date, and item breakdown.
  • Micro-Animations: Smooth animations using framer-motion will enhance the user experience, such as cards gently expanding on hover and the order summary panel sliding into view.
  • Parallax Background: A subtle parallax effect will create depth, with background elements like kitchen utensils and food illustrations moving at different speeds as users scroll.

This concept will make the homepage visually engaging and interactive, leaving a lasting impression on users.

7. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will employ a parallax interaction model, creating a layered depth effect as users scroll. Decorative elements like food illustrations and kitchen tools will move at varying speeds, while the main content scrolls naturally.

Motion Direction:

  • Scroll-Triggered Animations: Key sections (e.g., menu, testimonials, contact) will animate into view as users scroll down.
  • Hover Effects: Buttons and interactive elements will feature hover states with color shifts and slight scaling.
  • Smooth Transitions: Page transitions will be seamless, with fade-ins and slide-ins for a polished experience.
