1. Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for windy-django, a Django-based e-commerce platform for Rudrax Jewellery, a jewelry shop specializing in high-quality and exquisite jewelry pieces. This platform will cater to customers in India (IN), offering a seamless online shopping experience with features like product listings, a shopping cart, user authentication, and a contact page. The project will be tailored to meet the needs of Rudrax Jewellery and its customers, ensuring an elegant and user-friendly interface.

2. System Overview

The windy-django system will be a robust, scalable, and secure e-commerce platform designed to showcase Rudrax Jewellery's products. The system will allow users to browse products, add items to their cart, make purchases, and contact the shop for inquiries. The platform will also include an admin panel for managing inventory, orders, and customer interactions. The system will be built using Django for the backend, React for the frontend, and MySQL for the database. It will be optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring accessibility and usability for all users.

3. Functional Requirements

• As a User, I should be able to browse jewelry products by category and price range.
• As a User, I should be able to search for specific products using keywords.
• As a User, I should be able to view detailed product descriptions, including images, prices, and specifications.
• As a User, I should be able to add products to my shopping cart and view the cart contents.
• As a User, I should be able to create an account and log in to save my shopping preferences.
• As a User, I should be able to securely make payments using multiple payment options (credit card, UPI, net banking, etc.).
• As a User, I should be able to contact the shop via a contact form for inquiries or custom orders.
• As an Admin, I should be able to add, edit, and delete product listings.
• As an Admin, I should be able to manage orders and track their status.
• As an Admin, I should be able to view and respond to customer inquiries.

4. User Personas

1. Guest User:

   • Can browse products and view details.
   • Cannot make purchases or save preferences without creating an account.

2. Registered User:

   • Can browse products, add items to the cart, and make purchases.
   • Can save preferences and view order history.

3. Admin:

   • Can manage product listings, orders, and customer inquiries.
   • Has access to an admin dashboard for analytics and inventory management.

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

The visual theme for windy-django will reflect the elegance and sophistication of Rudrax Jewellery. The proposed color palette includes:

• Gold (#FFD700): Represents luxury and high-quality craftsmanship.
• White (#FFFFFF): Ensures a clean and minimalistic design.
• Black (#000000): Adds contrast and sophistication.
• Emerald Green (#50C878): A subtle nod to gemstones and nature.

Typography:

• Use a serif font like "Playfair Display" for headings to evoke elegance.
• Use a sans-serif font like "Lato" for body text to ensure readability.

6. Signature Design Concept

The windy-django homepage will feature a "Jewelry Showcase Carousel" as its signature design concept.

Details:

• The homepage will open with a full-screen interactive carousel displaying Rudrax Jewellery's top products.
• Each product will appear as a 3D rotating jewelry piece against a luxurious velvet-textured background.
• Users can hover over a product to see a subtle sparkle animation and click to view detailed descriptions.
• The carousel will transition smoothly with a parallax scrolling effect, giving a sense of depth and movement.
• Below the carousel, a "Featured Collections" section will display curated collections with high-quality images and quick links.
• Micro-interactions, such as buttons that "glow" when hovered over, will enhance the user experience.

This design will create a memorable first impression, emphasizing the luxury and exclusivity of Rudrax Jewellery.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

• The system must support at least 500 concurrent users.
• The website must load within 3 seconds on a standard 4G connection.
• The platform must comply with Indian data protection laws (e.g., IT Act 2000).
