vivid-idea System Requirements Document

1. Introduction

The "vivid-idea" project aims to empower grassroots sports by providing a comprehensive platform that supports various sports activities, tournaments, and matches. This document outlines the system requirements for the vivid-idea project, focusing on user interactions, core functionalities, and design elements tailored to enhance the user experience.

2. System Overview

The vivid-idea platform is designed to facilitate the organization and management of sports activities at the grassroots level. It supports multiple sports, including badminton, tennis, football, volleyball, and cricket. The system accommodates different types of tournaments and matches, providing tools for user registration, tournament creation, team management, live scoring, and more. The platform targets players, organizers, scorers, and administrators, offering tailored functionalities for each user type.

3. Functional Requirements

  • As a Player, I should be able to register on the platform to participate in sports activities.
  • As an Organizer, I should be able to create tournaments to facilitate sports competitions.
  • As a Player, I should be able to create teams to participate in tournaments.
  • As a Scorer, I should be able to input live scores during matches to keep track of the game progress.
  • As a Player, I should be able to view match results to stay informed about the outcomes.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to manage rankings to reflect player and team standings.
  • As a Player, I should be able to update my profile to maintain accurate personal and sports-related information.

4. User Personas

  • Player: Individuals participating in sports activities, interested in joining teams and tournaments.
  • Organizer: Individuals or entities responsible for setting up and managing tournaments.
  • Scorer: Individuals tasked with recording live scores during matches.
  • Admin: Users with administrative privileges to manage the platform, including user management and rankings.

5. Core User Flows

  • Player registers on the platform -> Joins a team -> Participates in a tournament -> Views match results.
  • Organizer creates a tournament -> Invites teams -> Manages tournament logistics -> Publishes results.
  • Scorer attends a match -> Records live scores -> Updates match results in real-time.
  • Admin oversees platform operations -> Manages user accounts -> Updates rankings.

6. Visuals Colors and Theme

7. Signature Design Concept

The vivid-idea platform will feature an interactive sports arena homepage. Users will navigate through a 3D-rendered sports complex using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei. Each section of the complex represents a different sport or feature, such as a tennis court for player profiles or a football field for live scoring. Users can click on these areas to explore features, with animations and transitions powered by framer-motion. The homepage will provide an immersive experience, allowing users to "walk" through the virtual sports world, interact with elements, and access information dynamically.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, creating a layered depth effect as users scroll. Decorative elements, such as sports equipment and atmospheric effects, will move at different speeds, enhancing the storytelling aspect. Internal pages will adopt a "static" model for clarity and ease of navigation, focusing on functionality and user efficiency.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The system must support high concurrency to accommodate multiple users accessing live scores simultaneously.
  • The platform should ensure data security and privacy, adhering to relevant regulations.
  • The system must be scalable to support additional sports and features in the future.

10. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python, FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL or MariaDB, using Alembic for migrations
  • AI Models: Not applicable
  • AI Tools: Not applicable
  • Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

11. Assumptions and Constraints

  • The platform assumes users have access to the internet and compatible devices.
  • The system is constrained by the need to support multiple languages and regions, given its global mission.
  • The platform must integrate with existing sports data sources for accurate match and player information.
