Venus-Landing System Requirements Document

Introduction

The "Venus-Landing" project aims to develop a modern, professional, and fully responsive landing page for a News Web App. This document outlines the system requirements for the landing page, focusing on creating an engaging user experience with a clean and scalable architecture.

System Overview

The Venus-Landing project is designed to provide users with a seamless and interactive experience on a news web app's landing page. The primary focus is on delivering a responsive design that adapts to various devices, including mobile, tablet, and desktop. The landing page will incorporate modern UI design principles similar to those used by leading platforms like BBC, Medium, and Google News.

Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As a User, I want the landing page to be fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
  • As a Developer, I should be able to use a clean and scalable component-based architecture for the landing page.
  • As a User, I want the landing page to have modern UI design elements similar to BBC, Medium, or Google News.
  • As a User, I want smooth animations and hover effects to enhance the interactivity of the landing page.

User Personas

  • General User: Individuals visiting the news web app to access the latest news and updates.
  • Developer: Frontend developers responsible for maintaining and updating the landing page.

Core User Flows

  • User visits the landing page -> Page adapts to device size (mobile/tablet/desktop) -> User interacts with UI elements -> Smooth animations and hover effects enhance experience.

Signature Design Concept

The Venus-Landing homepage will feature an interactive galaxy map where each star represents a different news category or feature. Users can click on a star to open a detailed view of the category, drag to rotate the galaxy, and hover to highlight connections between related news topics. This concept will be brought to life using @react-three/fiber for 3D rendering and gsap for smooth animations and transitions. The interactive galaxy map will create an engaging and memorable first impression for users visiting the landing page.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The intended interaction model for the Venus-Landing homepage is "parallax." This approach will create a layered depth effect via scroll, with decorative layers translating at different speeds while the main content scrolls naturally. This model is ideal for providing a visually rich first impression and enhancing storytelling on the landing page.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The landing page should load within 2 seconds on a standard broadband connection.
  • The design should adhere to accessibility standards, ensuring usability for all users.
  • The landing page should be optimized for SEO to improve visibility in search engines.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React (or Next.js) for building the landing page with SPA behavior.
