turbo-idea System Requirements Document

1. Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for the "turbo-idea" project, a simple single-page design for a to-do application. This document will provide a comprehensive overview of the system, functional requirements, user personas, core user flows, visual design, and other essential components.

2. System Overview

The "turbo-idea" project is a to-do application designed to be simple and user-friendly. The application will be a single-page design, focusing on ease of use and efficiency for users to manage their tasks effectively. The system will be accessible via web browsers and will not require any additional complex features beyond basic task management.

3. Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to add new tasks to my to-do list.
  • As a User, I should be able to view all my tasks in a single list.
  • As a User, I should be able to mark tasks as completed.
  • As a User, I should be able to delete tasks from my list.
  • As a User, I should be able to edit existing tasks.

4. User Personas

  • User: The primary user of the application who wants to manage their tasks efficiently. They value simplicity and ease of use in a to-do application.

5. Core User Flows

  • User opens the application -> adds a new task -> views the task in the list -> marks the task as completed -> deletes the task if no longer needed.
  • User opens the application -> views the task list -> edits an existing task -> saves changes.

6. Visuals Colors and Theme

  • primary: #4A90E2 (a calming blue for the main interface)
  • primary_light: #B3D4FC (a lighter blue for hover states)
  • secondary: #F5A623 (a warm orange for emphasis and highlights)
  • accent: #50E3C2 (a vibrant teal for call-to-action buttons)
  • highlight: #F8E71C (a bright yellow for notifications and active states)
  • bg: #FFFFFF (a clean white for the background)
  • surface: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.9) (a subtle white for cards and panels)
  • text: #333333 (a dark gray for primary text)

7. Signature Design Concept

The homepage of the "turbo-idea" to-do application will feature an interactive "Task Carousel". Users can swipe or drag through their tasks in a carousel format, providing a dynamic and engaging way to interact with their to-do list. Each task card will flip to reveal options for editing or deleting when clicked. This concept will be implemented using framer-motion for smooth animations and transitions, ensuring a seamless user experience.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The interaction model for the landing page will be "animated". The application will feature moderate scroll-triggered reveals and hover transitions, providing a polished and interactive experience. Internal pages will maintain a "static" interaction model to ensure clarity and focus on task management.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application should load within 2 seconds on a standard internet connection.
  • The application should be responsive and accessible on all modern web browsers.
  • The application should support accessibility standards, including keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility.

10. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Not applicable for a single-page application without server-side logic
  • Database: Not applicable for a single-page application without data persistence
  • AI Models: Not applicable
  • Local orchestration: Not applicable
  • Server-side orchestration: Not applicable

11. Assumptions and Constraints

  • The application will be a single-page design, focusing on simplicity and ease of use.
  • No server-side logic or database is required for this version of the application.
  • The application will be accessed via web browsers only.

12. Glossary

  • Task: An item on the to-do list that the user can add, edit, complete, or delete.
  • Single-page application: A web application that interacts with the user by dynamically rewriting the current page, rather than loading entire new pages from the server.
