Please create a testing mode version of the attached PNG file that mirrors the website preview before going live, so that I can show the client the preview and indicate where the clickable CTAs should be placed.

System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: tough-testing

1. Introduction

The tough-testing project aims to create a testing mode version of the provided website design that mirrors the layout and visual elements of the reference image. This testing mode will allow recrears to showcase the website preview to clients, highlighting clickable CTAs (Call-to-Action) and interactive elements before the site goes live.

This document outlines the system requirements for the testing mode version, ensuring the design aligns with the reference image and incorporates user-friendly functionality for client review.

2. System Overview

The system will replicate the design structure, layout, and color palette of the provided PNG reference. It will include:

  • A staging environment for testing mode.
  • Visual markers for clickable CTAs.
  • Simulated interactivity for buttons and links.
  • Basic hover effects on CTAs for better clarity.
  • Annotations indicating functionality for each CTA.
  • A layout optimized for client feedback and review.

The testing mode will not include backend connectivity but will visually demonstrate functionality.

3. Functional Requirements

Story Points:

  • As User, I should be able to preview the website layout in testing mode.
  • As User, I should see clear visual markers indicating clickable CTAs.
  • As User, I should be able to simulate button clicks and link interactions without backend functionality.
  • As User, I should see hover effects on CTAs for better clarity.
  • As User, I should see annotations next to CTAs indicating their intended functionality.
  • As User, I should be able to share the testing mode preview with clients for feedback.

4. User Personas

1. Admin

  • Role: Manages the testing mode environment and uploads design updates.
  • Needs: Ability to annotate clickable areas, simulate interactions, and ensure hover effects are functional.

2. Client

  • Role: Reviews the testing mode preview and provides feedback.
  • Needs: Clear visual representation of CTAs, intuitive navigation, and annotations explaining functionality.

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

Color Palette:

Based on the reference image, the following unique color palette is proposed:

  • Background: #F5F5F5 (Light Gray)
  • Surface: #004D61 (Deep Teal)
  • Text: #333333 (Dark Gray)
  • Accent: #00A676 (Vivid Green)
  • Muted Tones: #E0E0E0 (Soft Gray)

These colors align with the reference design and maintain a professional, modern aesthetic.

6. Signature Design Concept

Concept: Interactive Blueprint Homepage

The homepage will resemble an architectural blueprint, with pencil-sketch animations and interactive elements. Key features include:

  • Dynamic CTA Markers: Clickable areas will glow subtly when hovered over, mimicking the effect of a highlighter on a blueprint.
  • Section Animations: Each section will appear as if being drawn in real-time, with smooth transitions and sketch-like effects.
  • Interactive Feedback: Clicking on a CTA will trigger a simulated interaction, such as a pop-up message saying, "This button will lead to [specific action]."
  • Micro-Interactions: Hover effects will include subtle color shifts and scaling animations, enhancing the user experience.
  • Annotations: Small text annotations next to CTAs will explain their intended functionality, ensuring clarity for client review.

This concept ensures the testing mode is visually engaging and memorable while maintaining clarity for client review.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The testing mode must load within 2 seconds on standard devices.
  • Scalability: The system should support additional design updates without requiring major rework.
  • Accessibility: Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards for color contrast and navigation.
  • Security: Restrict access to the testing mode environment to authorized users only.

8. Tech Stack

Frontend:

  • React for Web

Backend:

  • Python
  • FastAPI

Database:

  • MySQL (for storing annotations and feedback)

AI Tools:

  • Litellm for routing simulated interactions

Local Orchestration:

  • Docker
  • docker-compose

9. Assumptions and Constraints

Assumptions:

  • The reference image accurately represents the desired layout and design.
  • Clients will provide feedback based on the testing mode preview.

Constraints:

  • No backend connectivity is required for the testing mode.
  • The testing mode must strictly follow the visual structure of the reference image.

10. Glossary

  • CTA: Call-to-Action, an interactive element such as a button or link.
  • WCAG: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, standards for web accessibility.
  • Testing Mode: A staging environment for previewing website design and functionality.
