shiny-tekken System Requirements Document

1. Introduction

The purpose of this System Requirements Document (SRD) is to outline the requirements for the "shiny-tekken" project. This document will serve as a comprehensive guide for the development and implementation of the project, ensuring all necessary functionalities and specifications are met.

2. System Overview

The "shiny-tekken" project is designed to enhance the user experience by integrating a modded moveset for the character Armor King from Tekken 8 into the Tekken 6 game on the PPSSPP emulator. This project aims to provide users with an enriched gameplay experience by introducing new moves and capabilities.

3. Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As a Player, I should be able to select Armor King with the new moveset in Tekken 6 on PPSSPP.
  • As a Player, I should be able to execute new moves specific to Armor King during gameplay.
  • As a Developer, I should be able to integrate the modded moveset seamlessly into the existing game framework.
  • As a Tester, I should be able to verify that the new moveset functions correctly without causing game crashes.

4. User Personas

  • Player: A user who plays Tekken 6 on PPSSPP and is interested in experiencing new moves for Armor King.
  • Developer: A user responsible for integrating and maintaining the modded moveset within the game.
  • Tester: A user who tests the functionality and stability of the modded moveset.

5. Core User Flows

  • Player selects Armor King -> Player executes new moves -> Game responds with appropriate animations and effects.
  • Developer integrates mod -> Developer tests integration -> Mod is deployed to the game.
  • Tester loads modded game -> Tester executes new moves -> Tester verifies stability and functionality.

6. Visuals Colors and Theme

7. Signature Design Concept

The homepage of the "shiny-tekken" project will feature an interactive fighting arena scene. Users will be able to click and drag to control a virtual camera, exploring the arena from different angles. As they hover over different parts of the arena, animations will trigger, showcasing Armor King's new moves in action. The scene will be brought to life using @react-three/fiber for 3D rendering and gsap for smooth animations.

LANDING HERO MOTION BRIEF

The landing hero will depict Armor King performing a signature move. The animation will start with Armor King in a ready stance. As the animation progresses, he will execute a powerful move, causing a shockwave effect that ripples through the arena. This will loop every 10 seconds, providing a dynamic and engaging visual. The animation will be built using motion/react for seamless transitions and responsive behavior.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

  • Intended Interaction Model: Animated
    • The landing page will feature moderate scroll-triggered reveals and hover transitions, enhancing the interactive experience.
    • Each section will have a distinctive core mechanic, such as kinetic typography or morphing SVGs, to maintain user engagement.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The mod must not introduce any performance issues or crashes in the game.
  • The integration should be seamless and not require additional configuration by the user.

10. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python
  • Database: Not applicable
  • AI Models: Not applicable
  • Local Orchestration: Docker
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

11. Assumptions and Constraints

  • The mod will be compatible with the PPSSPP emulator.
  • Users will have the necessary hardware to run the modded game smoothly.

12. Glossary

  • PPSSPP: A PSP emulator for playing PSP games on various platforms.
  • Mod: A modification made to a game to alter or add new content.
  • Moveset: The collection of moves available to a character in a fighting game.
