The Sapphire-UI project is a comprehensive software solution designed to replicate and enhance the core functionalities of RepairDesk, a system tailored for managing repair businesses. This document outlines the requirements for Sapphire-UI, which will serve both Jigme Wangdi's personal repair business in Australia and other businesses seeking a scalable, customizable solution. The system will focus on ticket management, invoicing, inventory tracking, customer management, and multi-user role-based access.

2. System Overview

Sapphire-UI is a web-based and mobile-compatible application designed to streamline repair business operations. It will provide users with tools to manage repair tickets, track inventory, generate invoices, and maintain customer records. The system will also support multi-user login with role-based access control, ensuring that sensitive settings are accessible only to administrators. Additionally, Sapphire-UI will be scalable to support businesses with multiple locations.

Key features include:

  • As an Admin, I should be able to create, view, update, and delete repair tickets.
  • As a User, I should be able to create and view repair tickets but not delete them.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to manage inventory, including adding, updating, and removing items.
  • As a User, I should be able to view inventory but not modify it.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to generate and manage invoices for repair jobs.
  • As a User, I should be able to view invoices but not create or modify them.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to manage customer records, including adding, updating, and deleting customer information.
  • As a User, I should be able to view customer records but not modify them.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to configure system settings, including user roles and permissions.
  • As a User, I should not have access to system settings.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to manage multiple business locations and assign users to specific locations.

User Authentication

  • As a User, I should be able to log in with a secure username and password.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to create and manage user accounts, including assigning roles and resetting passwords.

Multi-Location Support

  • As an Admin, I should be able to add, update, and manage multiple business locations.
  • As a User, I should only see data relevant to the location I am assigned to.
