System Requirements Document (SRD)

1. Introduction

This document outlines the requirements for developing an agentic system designed to compare and book plane tickets from various websites. The system aims to provide users with a seamless experience by aggregating ticket options, comparing prices, and enabling bookings directly through the platform.

2. System Overview

The system will act as an intelligent agent that interacts with multiple airline and travel websites to fetch ticket information. It will compare prices, flight details, and other relevant parameters to help users make informed decisions. The system will also facilitate ticket booking directly through its interface, ensuring a streamlined and user-friendly experience.

3. Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As User I should be able to search for plane tickets by entering travel details such as departure city, destination city, travel dates, and number of passengers.
  • As User I should be able to view a list of available flights from multiple websites, sorted by price, duration, or other filters.
  • As User I should be able to compare ticket prices and flight details across different websites.
  • As User I should be able to book tickets directly through the system after selecting a preferred flight.
  • As User I should be able to save my search preferences for future use.
  • As User I should be able to receive notifications about price drops or deals for my saved preferences.
  • As Admin I should be able to manage integrations with airline and travel websites.
  • As Admin I should be able to monitor system performance and resolve any issues with data fetching or booking processes.

4. User Personas

  • User: A traveler looking to compare and book plane tickets conveniently.
  • Admin: A system administrator responsible for managing integrations, monitoring system performance, and ensuring smooth operation.

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

The system will adopt a clean and professional color scheme to enhance usability and user experience:

  • Primary Color: Blue (#007BFF) - Represents trust and reliability.
  • Secondary Color: White (#FFFFFF) - Ensures a clean and uncluttered interface.
  • Accent Color: Green (#28A745) - Indicates success and confirmation (e.g., successful bookings).
  • Error Color: Red (#DC3545) - Highlights errors or issues.
  • Neutral Color: Gray (#6C757D) - Used for secondary information or disabled elements.

6. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The system should fetch ticket data from multiple websites within 5 seconds.
  • The system should ensure data accuracy and consistency across all fetched results.
  • The system should be scalable to handle high traffic during peak travel seasons.
  • The system should provide a secure booking process, ensuring user data privacy and protection.
  • The system should have a responsive design to work seamlessly on both web and mobile platforms.

7. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python with FastAPI
  • Database RDBMS: MySQL with Alembic for migrations
  • AI Models: GPT 5.2 for user-friendly responses
  • AI Tools: Langchain for intelligent data processing
  • Local Orchestration: Docker and docker-compose
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

8. Assumptions and Constraints

  • The system assumes that all integrated airline and travel websites provide APIs or data feeds for fetching ticket information.
  • The system assumes that users will have access to stable internet connections for searching and booking tickets.
  • The system is constrained by the availability and reliability of third-party APIs for fetching ticket data.
  • The system must comply with relevant data protection regulations, such as GDPR, to ensure user privacy.

9. Glossary

  • Agentic System: A system that acts autonomously to perform tasks on behalf of users.
  • API: Application Programming Interface, used for communication between the system and external websites.
  • RDBMS: Relational Database Management System, used for storing structured data.
  • AI Models: Artificial Intelligence models used for processing and generating intelligent responses.
  • Frontend: The user interface of the system.
  • Backend: The server-side logic and processing of the system.
  • Docker: A tool for containerizing applications.
  • Kubernetes: A system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

This updated SRD incorporates the user's request for an agentic system to compare and book plane tickets from different sites.
