Mithai tray, Sultanpur Road
Our Story
Shyam Mishthan Vatika is a sweets, snacks and chaat house on the Lucknow – Sultanpur Road in Arjunganj — the kind of counter where a family stops for a kilo of mithai on the way home from a wedding shopping trip, and the students from down the road come back in the evening for papdi chaat eaten standing up.
Our day runs in two halves. Through the day the trays hold mithai — kaju katli, gulab jamun, milk cake, laddoo and barfi — alongside namkeen weighed out by the kilo and gift boxes packed for festivals, weddings and the family visits that need something carried properly. By evening the same counter turns over to chaat: papdi, bhalla, gol gappe, tikki and dahi-based plates finished in front of you, with the chutneys and the sev going on last.
Every item on the card, with a photograph of the plate.

Families, festival shoppers and the evening chaat crowd — the people who keep coming back to Shyam Mishthan Vatika.
We came in on a Sunday with three generations in one car and left with four boxes. The gulab jamun were still warm, the namkeen was fresh, and nobody had to be asked twice to finish their plate.
I order kaju katli and motichoor laddoo from here every Diwali for the whole street. The mithai finishes before the sweets box is empty, and the packing travels well all the way to my sister’s place.
After evening classes we walk down for papdi chaat and a plate of samosa. The sev is piled generously, the chutney has a real kick, and there is always room to stand and eat with friends.
Sweets, namkeen, chaat, gift boxes and directions to the Sultanpur road shop — answered plainly, the way we would answer you across the counter.
Call 099563 91007We run a full Restaurant / Sweets / Snacks / Chaat kitchen on the Lucknow–Sultanpur road. The counter carries fresh mithai, namkeen and bakery items through the day, and the chaat station fires up a full spread of papdi chaat, dahi bhalla, gol gappe, aloo tikki and other plates right in front of you. Families come for sweets, students come for the evening chaat, and festival shoppers come for gift boxes — all under one roof.
The mithai counter is set up around classic North Indian favourites — kaju katli, gulab jamun, motichoor laddoo, besan laddoo, soan papdi and the seasonal items that rotate through the year. Everything is made in small batches through the day rather than stocked for weeks, so the tray you point at is the tray that was finished that morning. If a particular sweet is running low, ask at the counter and we will tell you honestly what is ready and what is coming off the karahi next.
Yes. Alongside the sweets we keep namkeen — the usual bhujia, mixture, sev, mathri and dry savouries — sold loose by weight so you can take exactly the quantity you need for a house full of guests. The bakery side covers everyday tea-time items and celebration cakes, which makes the shop a single stop when you are putting together a tray for a function.
Chaat is the evening side of the shop. Expect papdi chaat, dahi bhalla, gol gappe, aloo tikki, bhel and sev puri, dressed to order — you tell us how much curd, how much saunth, and how much teekha you want, and it is assembled fresh in front of you instead of sitting pre-plated. The chaat counter is at its busiest in the evening rush, so if you are coming with a group it is worth calling ahead on 099563 91007.
Yes — gift boxes are one of the things we do most. You pick the assorted sweets and namkeen you want, we pack them in the box size you need, and for larger wedding or festival orders we set aside the sweets and pack them on the day so nothing is sitting around. Because quantities vary by season, please call 099563 91007 before the function so we can confirm what is possible and when to collect it.
Our address is Lucknow - Sultanpur Rd, Arjunganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226002. Arjunganj sits on the Sultanpur road stretch, so we are on the way for anyone travelling out towards the airport side or coming in from that direction. Search the address in your maps app for turn-by-turn directions, or call us if the road-side entry is unclear and we will guide you in.
Both work. Call 099563 91007 during shop hours for orders, quantities, availability or gift-box queries. If you would rather type out a list than say it over the phone, WhatsApp the same number and send us your item list and quantity — it is the easiest way to place a larger order in advance.
Mornings are calm and best if you want to take your time over the mithai counter. The evening hours are when the chaat station and the whole market are at their liveliest — busier, but that is the atmosphere most people come for. For advance orders — festival boxes, wedding quantities, or a large chaat order for a gathering — please call ahead on099563 91007 so we can hold what you need.
