Rapid-Application System Requirements Document

Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for the "Rapid-Application" project. This project aims to develop a fully functional, production-ready application tailored to meet the needs of small business owners by automating order tracking and inventory management.

System Overview

The Rapid-Application is designed to be a comprehensive solution for small business owners, providing a seamless experience for managing orders and inventory. The application will leverage modern technologies to ensure real-time data handling, secure user authentication, and a responsive user interface.

Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to authenticate (Login/Sign-up) securely.
  • As a User, I should be able to view a dashboard displaying sales analytics.
  • As a User, I should be able to input new products with validation.
  • As a User, I should be able to search and filter data efficiently.

User Personas

  • Admin: Manages the overall system, including user roles and permissions.
  • Customer: Interacts with the application to place orders and view product information.

Visuals Colors and Theme

  • primary: #1A73E8 (a deep blue for brand identity)
  • primary_light: #E8F0FE (a light blue for hover states)
  • secondary: #FF6F61 (a coral hue for emphasis and links)
  • accent: #FFD700 (a vibrant gold for CTAs and active states)
  • highlight: #FFA500 (an orange for notifications and active indicators)
  • bg: #F5F5F5 (a light gray for the page background)
  • surface: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.9) (a white card/panel background)
  • text: #333333 (a dark gray for primary text)
  • text_muted: #757575 (a softer gray for secondary text)
  • border: rgba(204, 204, 204, 0.5) (a subtle gray for borders)

Signature Design Concept

The homepage of the Rapid-Application will feature an interactive galaxy map where each star represents a feature or section of the application. Users can click on a star to open a task card, drag to rotate the cluster, and hover to highlight connections. This concept will be implemented using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei for a 3D experience. The galaxy map will provide an engaging and intuitive way for users to explore the application's features, creating a memorable first impression.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, providing a layered depth experience via scroll. Decorative layers will translate at different speeds, while real content scrolls naturally. This approach is ideal for creating a visually rich first impression that tells a compelling story about the application's capabilities.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application must support both dark and light modes.
  • It should be responsive and work flawlessly on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • The system should handle user feedback with loading states, success toasts, and error handling.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React/Next.js with Tailwind CSS
  • Backend/Database: Supabase or Firebase for real-time data and authentication
  • State Management: Efficient data handling across all components

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The application will primarily serve small business owners.
  • Real-time data updates are crucial for the application's functionality.
  • The system must be scalable to accommodate future growth.
