System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: proud-website

1. Introduction

The proud-website project is an e-commerce platform designed to enable William Aikyam to sell uniforms to small businesses, petrol pumps, and hospitals in India. The platform will provide a tailored shopping experience with features such as bulk ordering, product personalization, and a backend dashboard for efficient management. Inspired by Shopify's comprehensive functionality, this project aims to deliver a robust, scalable, and user-friendly solution for both customers and administrators.

This document outlines the system requirements for the proud-website project, ensuring clarity and alignment with William's vision.

2. System Overview

The proud-website platform will consist of two primary components:

  1. Frontend (Customer-Facing):

    • A modern, mobile-responsive storefront where customers can browse products, place bulk orders, and personalize uniforms.
    • Secure checkout with multiple payment options.
  2. Backend (Administrator Dashboard):

    • A feature-rich dashboard for managing products, orders, personalization requests, and customer data.
    • Analytics tools for tracking sales trends, customer insights, and revenue.

The platform will integrate essential e-commerce functionalities, including product management, shopping cart, payment processing, order management, customer accounts, and analytics.

Color Palette:

  • Background: #F8F9FA (Soft Gray)
  • Surface: #FFFFFF (Pure White)
  • Text: #212529 (Charcoal Black)
  • Accent: #007BFF (Vibrant Blue)
  • Muted Tones: #6C757D (Neutral Gray)

Theme:

The theme will be clean, professional, and modern, reflecting the uniform industry's focus on precision and reliability. The color palette ensures readability and a polished aesthetic, with vibrant accents for interactive elements.

6. Signature Design Concept

Concept: Interactive Uniform Builder

The homepage will feature an Interactive Uniform Builder as its centerpiece. Customers will see a dynamic 3D model of a uniform that they can personalize in real-time.

Features:

  • Customers can select the uniform type (e.g., hospital scrubs, petrol pump attire) from a dropdown menu.
  • A live preview updates as they choose colors, upload logos, or enter embroidery text.
  • Micro-interactions: Hovering over customization options triggers subtle animations (e.g., buttons glow or icons pulse).
  • Smooth transitions: The uniform rotates or zooms in when changes are applied, creating an engaging experience.
  • Background: A gradient animation subtly shifts between the brand's accent colors to create a dynamic and professional feel.

This bold design will make the platform instantly memorable and elevate the personalization experience.
