The appointing authority or any authority to which it is subordinate may place a government servant under suspension pending investigation or inquiry into grave charges, or in cases where the disciplinary proceedings are contemplated.
Every order of suspension shall be reviewed by the competent authority within 90 days. If the review is not undertaken, the suspension shall be deemed to have been revoked after 90 days.
A government servant under suspension shall be entitled to subsistence allowance at an amount equal to the leave salary on half pay leave and the dearness allowance based on such subsistence allowance.
If the government servant is acquitted of the criminal charges, the suspension order shall be revoked and he/she shall be entitled to full pay and allowances for the period of suspension.
