Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for "project-ac18ed94," a website designed to facilitate study tracking. The project will focus on enabling users to plan and track their study sessions effectively, with a specific feature for managing a one-day, three-hour study plan.

System Overview

The system will provide users with tools to create, manage, and track their study plans. It will include features for setting up study sessions, tracking progress, and reviewing completed tasks. The primary focus is on enhancing productivity and ensuring users can efficiently manage their study time.

Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As a User, I should be able to create a one-day, three-hour study plan.
  • As a User, I should be able to track the progress of my study sessions in real-time.
  • As a User, I should be able to receive notifications for upcoming study sessions.
  • As a User, I should be able to mark study sessions as complete.
  • As a User, I should be able to review my completed study sessions.

User Personas

  • Student: The primary user who will create and track study plans.
  • Guest: A visitor who can view the features but cannot create or track study plans.

Core User Flows

  • Student creates a study plan -> receives notifications -> tracks progress -> marks session as complete -> reviews completed sessions.
  • Guest views the features of the website but cannot interact with the study tracking functionalities.

Signature Design Concept

The homepage will feature an interactive timeline that visually represents the user's study plan. As users scroll, the timeline will animate, showing different study sessions as nodes on the timeline. Each node can be clicked to expand details about the session, including time, subject, and notes. This timeline will use motion/react for smooth animations and transitions, creating an engaging and intuitive user experience.

Landing Hero Motion Brief

The landing page will feature a dynamic illustration of a student desk with animated elements representing study tools (books, laptop, clock). As the user scrolls, these elements will subtly animate to show the progression of a study session. The animation will loop every 10 seconds, showing the transition from an empty desk to a fully engaged study session, highlighting the transformation from preparation to active learning.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

  • Interaction Model: Parallax
  • The landing page will utilize a parallax effect to create a sense of depth, with layers of study-related imagery moving at different speeds as the user scrolls.
  • Internal pages will maintain a static interaction model to ensure clarity and focus on content.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The website should load within 3 seconds on a standard broadband connection.
  • The system should be accessible and usable on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • The website should support the latest versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python, FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL
  • Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The system will be developed with a focus on scalability to accommodate future feature expansions.
  • The website will initially support English language only.
  • User data privacy and security will be prioritized, adhering to relevant data protection regulations.

Glossary

  • Study Plan: A schedule outlining study sessions and goals.
  • Session: A specific period allocated for studying a particular subject or task.
  • Timeline: A visual representation of the study plan over a set period.

This document outlines the requirements and design considerations for "project-ac18ed94," ensuring a comprehensive approach to developing a study tracking website.
