orbit-build System Requirements Document

Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for the "orbit-build" project. This project aims to develop a simple single-page application (SPA) tailored to the needs of users in India, considering locale-specific defaults and preferences.

System Overview

The "orbit-build" project will deliver a streamlined single-page application designed for simplicity and ease of use. The application will focus on providing a seamless user experience with minimal navigation, ensuring that all necessary information and interactions are available on a single page.

Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to view all content and features on a single page without needing to navigate to other pages.
  • As a User, I should be able to interact with the application smoothly, with quick response times and minimal loading.
  • As a User, I should be able to access the application on various devices, ensuring a responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes.

User Personas

  • General User: Individuals accessing the application for personal use, seeking a straightforward and efficient interface.

Core User Flows

  • User opens the application -> All content is displayed on a single page -> User interacts with features (e.g., buttons, forms) -> User receives immediate feedback or results on the same page.

Visuals Colors and Theme

  • primary: #3498db (a calming blue to represent trust and reliability)
  • primary_light: #85c1e9 (a lighter blue for hover states and secondary UI elements)
  • secondary: #e74c3c (a vibrant red for headlines and emphasis)
  • accent: #f1c40f (a bright yellow for call-to-action buttons and active states)
  • highlight: #f39c12 (a warm orange for hover states and notifications)
  • bg: #ecf0f1 (a light grey for the page background)
  • surface: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.9) (a soft white for card/panel backgrounds)
  • text: #2c3e50 (a dark blue for primary text and headings)
  • text_muted: #7f8c8d (a muted grey for secondary text and labels)
  • border: rgba(44, 62, 80, 0.2) (a subtle border color)

Signature Design Concept

The homepage of the "orbit-build" application will feature an interactive "Orbit Navigation" concept. Users will experience a dynamic interface where sections of the page orbit around a central focal point. As users hover over different sections, they will gently rotate into focus, providing a sense of movement and engagement. This will be achieved using framer-motion for smooth animations and transitions. The design will create an immersive experience, encouraging users to explore the content naturally.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The interaction model for the "orbit-build" application will be "animated". This will include moderate scroll-triggered reveals and hover transitions to enhance user engagement without overwhelming them. The single-page layout will prioritize clarity and ease of navigation, with subtle animations to guide users through the content.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application must load within 3 seconds on a standard internet connection.
  • The design should be responsive and compatible with major browsers and devices.
  • The application should be accessible, adhering to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Not applicable for a simple SPA
  • Database: Not applicable for a simple SPA
  • AI Models/Tools: Not applicable for a simple SPA
  • Local Orchestration: Docker for containerization

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The application will be developed as a single-page application with no server-side rendering.
  • The design will focus on simplicity and ease of use, avoiding complex interactions or multi-page navigation.
