stone-brackett System Requirements Document Introduction The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for the project "stone-brackett." This project aims to develop an internal operating system specifically designed for lean startup teams that have already launched their products and are navigating the complexities of business operations. The system will serve as a centralized workspace where teams can integrate various tools and signals, utilize AI-driven insights, and coordinate actions effectively. System Overview Stone-brackett is designed to address the operational challenges faced by small startup teams post-launch. It provides a unified platform that ingests business context, connects key signals, and utilizes AI to generate actionable insights. The system facilitates team coordination and decision-making, ensuring that insights are directly linked to execution. The primary users are small startup teams with live products, user traffic, and revenue signals, aiming to streamline their operations and drive growth. 1 Functional Requirements As an Owner/Admin, I should be able to set up the dashboard and invite team members. As a Team Member, I should be able to connect data sources like analytics and feedback streams. As a User, I should be able to integrate tools like Stripe and popular analytics platforms. As a Team Member, I should be able to discuss AI-generated suggestions in-context and assign tasks. As a User, I should be able to view structured suggestions around product decisions, pricing, growth, or execution priorities. As a Team Member, I should be able to track recent movement, setup status, KPIs, and the next best action upon returning to the dashboard. As an AI Assistant, I should be able to act as a product manager and analyst, helping teams reach conclusions faster. User Personas Owner/Admin: Responsible for setting up the dashboard, inviting team members, and managing integrations. Team Member: Engages with the platform to connect data sources, discuss suggestions, and execute tasks. AI Assistant: Acts as a product manager and analyst, providing insights and recommendations to the team. Core User Flows Owner/Admin sets up the dashboard -> Invites team members -> Integrates tools like Stripe and analytics platforms. Team Member connects data sources -> Receives AI-generated suggestions -> Discusses and assigns tasks -> Executes tasks. AI Assistant analyzes data -> Generates structured suggestions -> Assists in decision-making and task coordination. 2 Visuals Colors and Theme primary: #1A73E8 (a deep blue for brand identity) primary_light: #4D90FE (a lighter blue for hover states) secondary: #FF6F61 (a coral hue for emphasis and links) accent: #FFD700 (a vibrant gold for CTAs and badges) highlight: #FFA500 (an orange for active indicators) bg: #F5F5F5 (a light gray for the page background) surface: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8) (a white card/panel background) text: #333333 (a dark gray for primary text) text_muted: #777777 (a softer gray for secondary text) border: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) (a subtle border color) Signature Design Concept The homepage of stone-brackett will feature an interactive galaxy map where each star represents a different feature or section of the platform. Users can click on a star to open a task card, drag to rotate the cluster, and hover to highlight connections between different features. This concept will be brought to life using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei for 3D interactions, providing an engaging and memorable first impression. Interaction Model & Motion Direction The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, creating a layered depth effect as users scroll through the page. Decorative layers will move at different speeds, while the main content remains in the natural flow. This approach is ideal for storytelling and providing a visually rich first impression. Internal pages will adopt a "static" model to prioritize layout clarity and reading speed. 3 Non-Functional Requirements The system must support role-based access control to ensure secure user management. The platform should be highly available and capable of handling concurrent user sessions. Data integration with external tools must be seamless and secure. Tech Stack Frontend: React for Web Backend: Python, FastAPI Database: MySQL or MariaDB, using Alembic for migrations AI Models: GPT 5.4 for user-friendly responses AI Tools: Litellm for LLM Routing Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes Assumptions and Constraints The system is designed for small startup teams with existing products and user traffic. Integration with external tools like Stripe and analytics platforms is essential. The AI assistant is post-trained and guardrailed to act as a product manager and analyst. 4 Glossary AI Assistant: An internal AI tool designed to provide insights and recommendations. Owner/Admin: A user role responsible for setting up the dashboard and managing team members. Team Member: A user role involved in connecting data sources and executing tasks. Parallax: An interaction model that creates a layered depth effect via scrolling. 5
