System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: omega-project

1. Introduction

The omega-project is a tourism-focused web application designed to provide users with a seamless and engaging experience for exploring travel destinations across India. The platform offers season-wise travel packages, detailed place listings, tour guide information, an admin management page, and a user feedback system. By incorporating modern technologies such as HTML, CSS, Python, and PHP for database connectivity, the omega-project aims to deliver a robust, user-friendly, and scalable solution for travelers and administrators alike.

This document outlines the system requirements for the omega-project, ensuring a well-structured, modern, and efficient implementation. The project is designed to cater to users across India, offering region-specific categorization and dynamic packages to enhance the user experience.

Interactive 3D Globe with Regional Highlights

The homepage of the omega-project will feature an interactive 3D globe that highlights different regions of India. Users can rotate the globe and click on highlighted regions (e.g., North, South, East, West, Northeast) to explore curated seasonal packages and destinations.

Key Features:

  • Dynamic Animations: The globe will rotate smoothly, with regions lighting up as the user hovers over them.
  • Seasonal Effects: Depending on the current season, the globe will display animations such as falling snowflakes for winter, blooming flowers for spring, or raindrops for monsoon.
  • Pop-up Cards: Clicking on a region will display a pop-up card with quick details about top destinations, packages, and tour guides.
  • Micro-interactions: Buttons and icons will have subtle animations, such as glowing or bouncing when hovered over.
  • Scrolling Banner: A banner at the bottom of the homepage will showcase user testimonials, featured destinations, and special offers.

This design will make the platform visually stunning, engaging, and memorable for users, ensuring a strong first impression.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The system should load pages within 2 seconds under normal conditions.
  • Scalability: The platform should support up to 50,000 concurrent users.
  • Security: Implement secure authentication and data encryption to protect user information.
  • Localization: Support multiple languages, starting with English and Hindi.
  • Accessibility: Ensure WCAG 2.1 compliance for users with disabilities.
  • Maintainability: The codebase should follow modular design principles to facilitate updates and scalability.
