Signature Design Concept

The homepage of the Offline Chess App will feature an interactive chessboard that responds to user interactions. As users hover over different pieces, the board will highlight potential moves with subtle animations. The design will incorporate a dynamic background that shifts colors based on the time of day, creating a visually appealing experience. The chess pieces will have a 3D effect, and users can rotate the board using touch gestures. This interactive design will be implemented using @react-three/fiber for 3D effects and framer-motion for smooth animations.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, providing a layered depth effect as users scroll through the app. The chessboard and pieces will animate smoothly, with hover transitions and spring physics applied to interactive elements. Internal pages will maintain a "static" interaction model to ensure clarity and ease of use during gameplay and learning sessions.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The app must function without an internet connection.
  • The AI engine should provide a challenging experience at various difficulty levels.
  • The application should have a responsive design to support various screen sizes.
