System Requirements Document (SRD)

1. Introduction

This document outlines the requirements for the development of an Inventory Management System web application. The system aims to streamline inventory tracking, management, and analytics for businesses. It will include several functionalities such as AI assistance, analytics, and nearby store locator to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.

2. System Overview

The Inventory Management System web application will provide users with tools to manage their inventory effectively. It will include features such as a dashboard for overview, a records page for detailed inventory tracking, analytics for insights, and AI assistance for user-friendly interactions. Additionally, the system will allow users to locate nearby stores and sell items in stock directly from the platform.

3. Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As User I should be able to access a landing page to understand the system and navigate to other pages.
  • As User I should be able to view a dashboard that provides an overview of inventory metrics and system status.
  • As User I should be able to create a database to store inventory records.
  • As User I should be able to view and manage inventory records on a records page.
  • As User I should be able to access analytics to gain insights into inventory trends and performance.
  • As User I should be able to use an AI assistant for help and recommendations related to inventory management.
  • As User I should be able to locate nearby stores using a store locator feature.
  • As User I should be able to sell items in stock directly through the system.

4. User Personas

Admin

  • Responsible for managing the system settings, user roles, and permissions.
  • Can access all features including analytics, AI assistant, and nearby store locator.

User

  • Regular user who manages inventory records, views analytics, and uses the AI assistant.
  • Can create databases, sell items in stock, and locate nearby stores.

Guest

  • Limited access to the system, primarily to view the landing page and basic information about the system.

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

The Inventory Management System will use a professional and clean design theme with the following color palette:

  • Primary Color: #2C3E50 (Dark Blue for headers and navigation)
  • Secondary Color: #18BC9C (Green for buttons and highlights)
  • Accent Color: #E74C3C (Red for warnings and errors)
  • Background Color: #ECF0F1 (Light Gray for page backgrounds)
  • Text Color: #34495E (Dark Gray for text)

The theme will focus on simplicity and readability to ensure ease of use for all users.
