mentell

## Product summary Build **Mentell**, a Tamil Nadu-focused wellness app centered on three pillars — **physical, mental, and financial wellness** — for people dealing with mood-related weight and wellbeing struggles. The core differentiator is **accountability**, not language: most wellness apps let people quietly disengage. Mentell makes daily check-ins visible to a coach and a small peer group, so accountability is structural, not willpower-based. Brand voice: impact-first, authentic, community-driven; content and copy mix Tamil + English (Tanglish). Founder story (a solo IT consultant doing a public 270-day transformation, including a physical disability, documented openly) is central to the brand and should appear in onboarding/marketing screens, not buried. ## Brand - Colors: Navy `#0f1b35`, Blue `#1a56db`, Yellow accent `#FFD166` - Font: Poppins Bold for headings - Tone: warm, direct, no toxic-positivity, no shame-based diet language - Bilingual UI: Tamil + English mixed naturally (Tanglish), not a language toggle — like the existing website copy ## Core user roles 1. **Member** — the end user going through the program 2. **Coach / Pillar Lead** — Noor (or later, a pillar lead for physical/mental/financial) who monitors a group of members 3. **Admin** — Noor, full visibility across all members and coaches --- ## Must-have features (v1) ### 1. Onboarding - Signup (phone/OTP preferred for India, or email) - Short behavioral intake quiz (not just BMR/calories): current habits, mood patterns, financial stress around health spend, motivation type, past attempts and why they stopped - Founder story screen (polio survivor, 270-day journey) as part of onboarding, not just marketing - Output: a starting profile across all 3 pillars, not a single "diet plan" ### 2. Daily check-in (the accountability core) - One combined daily check-in: water, workout, sleep, mood, and one financial micro-habit (e.g. "did you track today's spend" or "did you skip an impulse food order") - Visual streak counter (not shame-based if broken — encouraging re-start language) - 7-day and 30-day view, mirroring the existing habit tracker logic but persistent and account-based instead of a downloaded Excel ### 3. Micro-lessons - Short (2–3 min) daily lessons in Tanglish, rotating across the 3 pillars - Simple CBT-style framing for mental wellness lessons (why we eat emotionally, why we avoid budgeting, etc.) — NOT clinical/diagnostic content - Lesson completion feeds into streak/engagement score ### 4. Diet & habit tools (already exist on the current site — migrate and upgrade) - Rebuild the existing 21-day Tamil Nadu diet plan generator (BMR calc, South Indian meal cycle, PDF/Word export) as an in-app persistent feature tied to the user's profile, not a one-time client-side calculator - Habit tracker becomes account-based instead of a static spreadsheet download ### 5. Community & coaching - Lightweight group feed: members in the same cohort/pillar-lead group can see each other's check-ins and cheer/comment (keep it light — not a full social network) - Coach dashboard: for Noor/pillar leads to see who is on-streak, who has gone quiet (>2 days no check-in), and send a nudge - Keep WhatsApp as an option for deeper conversations, but daily accountability should live in-app so it's trackable and scalable beyond manual chat replies ### 6. Financial wellness module (the genuine differentiator — build this properly) - Simple weekly "health spend" log (diet, gym, wellness purchases) with a savings-goal or "money saved by not X" framing - Tie it to the mood/physical pillars: e.g. surfacing "your best streak weeks also had lower impulse spend" type insights - This pillar has no direct equivalent in Noom or most competitors — treat it as core, not an afterthought ### 7. Progress tracking - Weight, mood, and optional progress photos over time (private by default, user can choose to share to community feed) - Simple charts, not a clinical dashboard ### 8. Monetization - Free tier: habit tracker, daily check-in, community feed, micro-lessons - Paid tier 1 (₹499 one-time): personalized diet chart - Paid tier 2 (₹4,999 / 90 days): full coaching — weekly 1:1 check-ins, custom workout, diet + habit + mental health support, private group - Integrate Razorpay (or similar India-first payment gateway) for both tiers — replace manual WhatsApp-based payment collection ### 9. Notifications - Daily check-in reminder (push or WhatsApp Business API) - "You're on a 7-day streak" / "your group misses you" nudges — supportive tone, never guilt-based --- ## Explicitly NOT in v1 (avoid scope creep / Noom's known weaknesses) - No full food database + barcode scanner — too heavy to build/maintain now, and manual logging is what users complain about in Noom; keep logging lightweight (habit-style, not gram-level calorie tracking) - No claim of credentialed medical/psychological advice — lessons are educational, not therapy; always direct serious mental health concerns to a professional - No public leaderboard/ranking that could shame slower progress — community should be supportive, not competitive ## Technical notes - Mobile-first responsive web app (India-first user base, many on Android/mid-range phones — keep it light, low data usage) - Needs persistent backend + auth (this is the single biggest gap vs the current static GitHub Pages site) - Should support a coach/admin view separate from the member view - Design should visually extend the existing site's navy/blue/yellow branding and Poppins typography, not introduce a new visual identity
