mango-page System Requirements Document

Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for the "mango-page" project, which involves creating a simple, single-page calculator application. This application will focus on providing users with an intuitive and efficient tool for performing basic arithmetic operations.

System Overview

The "mango-page" project aims to deliver a user-friendly calculator application that operates on a single page. The application will support basic arithmetic functions, ensuring ease of use and accessibility for all users. The design will be clean and minimalistic, aligning with the project's goal of simplicity.

Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to perform addition.
  • As a User, I should be able to perform subtraction.
  • As a User, I should be able to perform multiplication.
  • As a User, I should be able to perform division.

User Personas

  • User: The primary user of the calculator, who requires a straightforward tool for basic arithmetic operations.

Visuals Colors and Theme

For the "mango-page" project, the following unique color palette has been defined:

  • primary: #FFB74D (a warm mango orange)
  • primary_light: #FFE0B2 (a lighter tint of mango orange for hover states)
  • secondary: #4DB6AC (a calming teal for emphasis)
  • accent: #FF5252 (a vibrant red for CTAs and active states)
  • highlight: #FFD54F (a bright yellow for hover states and notifications)
  • bg: #FFFFFF (a clean white background)
  • surface: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.9) (a subtle white for card/panel backgrounds)
  • text: #212121 (a dark grey for primary text)
  • text_muted: #757575 (a softer grey for secondary text)
  • border: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) (a subtle grey for borders)

Signature Design Concept

The "mango-page" calculator will feature an interactive design concept where the calculator buttons appear as floating elements on a mango-themed background. When users hover over the buttons, they will gently rise and cast a soft shadow, creating a tactile and engaging experience. The background will subtly shift in color from a light mango hue to a deeper shade as users interact with the calculator, providing a dynamic and visually appealing interface. This effect will be achieved using framer-motion for smooth animations and transitions.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page for the "mango-page" calculator will employ an "animated" interaction model. This will include hover transitions and spring physics on interactive elements, ensuring a polished and responsive user experience. The focus will be on maintaining layout clarity while adding a touch of motion to enhance user engagement.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application should load quickly and efficiently on all modern web browsers.
  • The design should be responsive, ensuring usability on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • The calculator should handle arithmetic operations accurately and without delay.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Not applicable (single-page application)
  • Database: Not applicable (single-page application)

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The application will be developed as a single-page web application.
  • No backend or database integration is required for this project.
  • The design will focus on simplicity and ease of use.

Glossary

  • Single-page application: A web application that interacts with the user by dynamically rewriting the current page, rather than loading entire new pages from the server.
  • Arithmetic operations: Basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
