lime-idea System Requirements Document

Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for the "lime-idea" project, which involves the creation of a simple single-page design for a to-do application.

System Overview

The lime-idea project aims to deliver a straightforward, user-friendly single-page application that allows users to manage their to-do lists efficiently. The application will focus on simplicity and ease of use, ensuring that users can quickly add, edit, and delete tasks.

Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to add a new task to my to-do list.
  • As a User, I should be able to edit an existing task in my to-do list.
  • As a User, I should be able to delete a task from my to-do list.
  • As a User, I should be able to view all tasks in my to-do list on a single page.

User Personas

  • User: The primary user of the application who needs to manage personal tasks efficiently.

Core User Flows

  • User opens the application -> User adds a new task -> Task appears in the list.
  • User selects a task -> User edits the task -> Updated task is saved.
  • User selects a task -> User deletes the task -> Task is removed from the list.

Visuals Colors and Theme

  • primary: #4CAF50 (a fresh lime green)
  • primary_light: #81C784 (a lighter lime green for hover states)
  • secondary: #FF5722 (a vibrant orange for emphasis)
  • accent: #FFC107 (a bright yellow for call-to-action buttons)
  • highlight: #FF9800 (a warm amber for notifications)
  • bg: #F5F5F5 (a light grey for the background)
  • surface: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.9) (a soft white for cards/panels)
  • text: #212121 (a dark grey for primary text)
  • text_muted: #757575 (a medium grey for secondary text)
  • border: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) (a subtle grey for borders)

Signature Design Concept

The lime-idea application will feature an interactive, minimalist design where tasks are represented as sticky notes on a virtual corkboard. Users can drag and drop tasks to reorder them, providing a tactile and engaging experience. The interface will utilize framer-motion for smooth drag-and-drop animations and transitions, enhancing the user's interaction with the task list.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will employ an "animated" interaction model, featuring smooth transitions and hover effects to enhance user engagement without overwhelming them. This approach will ensure that the application remains intuitive and responsive, focusing on the core functionality of task management.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application should load quickly and perform efficiently on all modern web browsers.
  • The design should be responsive and accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Not applicable for a single-page design
  • Database: Not applicable for a single-page design

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The application will be a single-page design with no backend integration.
  • The focus is on simplicity and usability, with minimalistic design elements.

  • Single-page application: A web application that interacts with the user by dynamically rewriting the current page, rather than loading entire new pages from the server.
