System Requirement Document

System Requirements Document (SRD)

1. Introduction

This document outlines the requirements for a system that generates an Excel sheet to calculate time durations for celestial cycles based on planetary years. The system will allow users to input planetary years and compute the time required to complete cycles for zodiac signs, nakshatras, nakshatra charans, and degrees. Additionally, the system will provide functionality to adjust calculations based on the user's date of birth (DOB). The goal is to provide an automated and user-friendly solution for astrological calculations with DOB-based adjustments. The system will also include functionality to provide a downloadable Excel template for celestial cycle calculations, including formulas for DOB-based adjustments.

2. System Overview

The system will be a web-based application where users can input planetary years and their date of birth to receive an Excel sheet with calculated results. The calculations will include:

  • Time taken by planets to complete one cycle of 12 zodiac signs.
  • Time taken to complete one zodiac sign.
  • Time taken to complete one nakshatra.
  • Time taken to complete one nakshatra charan.
  • Time taken to complete one degree.
  • Adjustments based on the user's date of birth to provide personalized insights.
  • A downloadable Excel template with pre-configured formulas for celestial cycle calculations, including DOB-based adjustments.

The system will use formulas and logic to perform these calculations dynamically and export the results into an Excel sheet. The DOB-based adjustments will allow users to view calculations specific to their age and celestial alignment. Additionally, users will have access to a downloadable Excel template for manual data entry and calculations.

Assumptions

  • Users have basic knowledge of celestial cycles and planetary years.
  • The system will primarily be used for astrological purposes.
  • Users will input planetary years and DOB in a consistent format (e.g., integers or decimals for years, and YYYY-MM-DD for DOB).
  • Users may prefer manual calculations using a downloadable Excel template.

Constraints

  • The system will only support calculations for the provided celestial bodies (Surya, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu).
  • The calculations are based on fixed formulas and do not account for variations in celestial movements.
  • DOB adjustments will be limited to aligning celestial cycles with the user's age and astrological profile.
  • The downloadable Excel template will include pre-configured formulas but will not dynamically update based on external inputs.

  • Celestial Cycle: The time taken by a celestial body to complete one full rotation through the zodiac signs.
  • Zodiac Sign: One of the 12 divisions of the celestial sphere.
  • Nakshatra: A lunar mansion or segment of the zodiac.
  • Nakshatra Charan: A subdivision of a nakshatra.
  • Degree: A unit of measurement used in celestial calculations.
  • Planetary Years: The time taken by a celestial body to complete one orbit around the sun.

10. DOB-Based Adjustment Formulas

To adjust calculations based on the user's date of birth, the following formulas can be implemented in Excel:

  1. Time per Rashi:
    Formula: =Planetary Years/12
    Example for Surya: =19/12

  2. Time per Nakshatra:
    Formula: =Time per Rashi/27
    Example for Moon: =(16/12)/27

  3. Time per Charan:
    Formula: =Time per Nakshatra/4
    Example for Mars: =((28/12)/27)/4

  4. Time per Degree:
    Formula: =Time per Rashi/30
    Example for Mercury: =(10/12)/30

  5. Next Cycle Completion Date:
    Formula: =EDATE(DOB, Planetary Years * 12)
    Example for Jupiter: =EDATE(DOB, 12 * 12)
This calculates the next cycle completion date for each planet based on the user's DOB.

These formulas can be directly implemented in Excel to provide dynamic and personalized celestial cycle calculations.
