jolly-litlabs System Requirements Document

Introduction

Welcome to the System Requirements Document for the "jolly-litlabs" project. This document outlines the necessary requirements and specifications to ensure the successful development and deployment of the jolly-litlabs platform. Our goal is to create a seamless and engaging experience for users, focusing on smooth functionality and user-friendly design.

System Overview

The jolly-litlabs project aims to provide an interactive and educational platform designed to engage users in a community-driven environment. The platform will focus on delivering a seamless user experience, with a particular emphasis on secure and efficient user authentication processes. The primary audience includes educators, students, and community members interested in collaborative learning and engagement.

  • As a Guest, I should be able to browse public content without logging in.
  • As a User, I should be able to reset my password securely.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to view user activity logs for security purposes.

Signature Design Concept

Imagine a homepage that transforms into a dynamic, interactive storybook. As users scroll, the page unfolds like a book, with each section turning like a page. This concept uses framer-motion for smooth page transitions and gsap for scroll-triggered animations. Users can click on interactive elements that pop up like illustrations in a pop-up book, providing an engaging and memorable experience. The design will feature whimsical illustrations and animations that respond to user interactions, creating a playful and immersive environment.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, creating a layered depth effect as users scroll. Decorative elements will move at different speeds, enhancing the storytelling aspect of the platform. Internal pages, such as dashboards and settings, will adopt a "static" model to prioritize clarity and ease of use.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The system must ensure high availability and reliability, with a target uptime of 99.9%.
  • User data must be securely stored and protected, complying with relevant data protection regulations.
  • The platform should support scalability to accommodate a growing user base.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python, FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL or MariaDB, using Alembic for migrations
  • AI Models: GPT 5.4 for user-friendly responses
  • AI Tools: Litellm for LLM Routing, Langchain
  • Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The platform will primarily serve users in the US, adhering to local regulations and standards.
  • The system will be designed to handle peak loads efficiently, ensuring smooth performance during high traffic periods.
