Home Bakery System Requirements Document

Introduction

This document outlines the system requirements for the "Home Bakery" project. The project aims to facilitate online order placement, scheduling of pickups, and menu browsing for a home bakery catering to local customers in Kenya.

System Overview

The Home Bakery system will provide an online platform for local customers to browse the bakery's menu, place orders, and schedule pickups. The system will enhance customer convenience and streamline the bakery's order management process.

Functional Requirements

• As a Customer, I should be able to browse the bakery menu online.
• As a Customer, I should be able to place an order online.
• As a Customer, I should be able to schedule a pickup time for my order.

User Personas

• Customer: A local individual interested in purchasing bakery items online. They value convenience and efficiency in placing orders and scheduling pickups.

Core User Flows

• Customer browses the menu -> selects items -> places an order -> schedules a pickup time.
• Customer receives order confirmation -> arrives at the bakery at the scheduled time -> picks up the order.

Signature Design Concept

The Home Bakery website will feature an interactive "Baking Journey" homepage. As users scroll, they will experience a virtual tour of the bakery's kitchen. Using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei, the page will simulate a 3D kitchen environment where users can click on different baking stations to explore menu items. Hovering over ingredients will reveal fun facts and recipe tips, creating an engaging and educational experience.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model. Layers of the bakery kitchen will move at different speeds as users scroll, creating a sense of depth and immersion. Interactive elements will have subtle animations triggered by hover and click actions, enhancing user engagement.

Non-Functional Requirements

• The system should be accessible and responsive across various devices and screen sizes.
• The system should ensure data security and privacy for customer information.
• The system should handle concurrent user sessions efficiently.

Tech Stack
