System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: hardy-crypto

1. Introduction

The hardy-crypto project is a personal crypto arbitrage trading system designed to identify and capitalize on price discrepancies across multiple cryptocurrency exchanges. Developed specifically for Theodoros Tsompanidis in Germany, this system aims to streamline the trading process by automating key functionalities while maintaining simplicity for personal use.

This document outlines the system requirements for hardy-crypto, ensuring clarity and alignment with Theodoros' vision for a robust, efficient, and user-friendly trading tool.

2. System Overview

The hardy-crypto system will monitor multiple cryptocurrency exchanges in real-time, identify arbitrage opportunities, and execute trades automatically based on predefined criteria. It will leverage advanced APIs for exchange data retrieval and integrate with secure trading platforms to ensure seamless operations.

Key features include:

  • Real-time price monitoring across selected exchanges.
  • Automated trade execution based on pre-configured rules.
  • Notifications for manual intervention when required.
  • A user-friendly interface tailored for personal use.

The system will prioritize security, reliability, and efficiency, ensuring Theodoros can confidently manage his crypto arbitrage activities.

3. Functional Requirements

As User:

  • I should be able to configure the list of exchanges to monitor.
  • I should be able to set predefined thresholds for arbitrage opportunities.
  • I should be able to view real-time price data across exchanges.
  • I should be able to enable or disable automated trade execution.
  • I should receive notifications for manual intervention when thresholds are met.
  • I should be able to review trade history and performance analytics.
  • I should be able to integrate API keys securely for exchange access.
  • I should have access to a dashboard summarizing current market conditions.

4. User Personas

6. Signature Design Concept

Interactive Crypto Galaxy Dashboard

The homepage of hardy-crypto will feature an Interactive Crypto Galaxy, where each cryptocurrency exchange is represented as a glowing star in a dynamic galaxy map. Users can:

  • Hover over stars to view real-time price data and arbitrage opportunities.
  • Click on stars to zoom into detailed analytics for that exchange.
  • Experience smooth transitions as the galaxy rotates and shifts based on user interactions.
  • Color-coded stars indicate the profitability of arbitrage opportunities (e.g., green for high, yellow for moderate, red for low).

Micro-interactions include:

  • Stars pulsating gently to indicate active monitoring.
  • A subtle background animation of drifting particles to evoke a sense of motion and exploration.
  • A glowing trail effect when navigating between exchanges.

This design will create an unforgettable first impression, combining functionality with a visually captivating experience.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The system must process real-time data with minimal latency (<500ms).
  • Scalability: Capable of monitoring up to 20 exchanges simultaneously.
  • Security: All API keys and sensitive data must be encrypted using AES-256.
  • Reliability: Ensure 99.9% uptime for critical functionalities.
  • Usability: The interface must be intuitive and require minimal training.

8. Tech Stack
