System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: happy-lead

1. Introduction

The happy-lead project is a Lead Management System designed specifically for sales and marketing teams to streamline the process of capturing, tracking, and nurturing leads. By integrating with email services like Bison, this system aims to automate outreach, improve lead tracking, and enhance productivity. The system will focus on providing a user-friendly interface, robust email integration, and tools to manage leads effectively.

This document outlines the system requirements for happy-lead, including functional and non-functional requirements, user personas, visual design concepts, and technical specifications. The system is tailored for users in India (IN), taking into account locale-specific preferences such as time zones (IST) and currency (INR).

2. System Overview

The happy-lead system will serve as a centralized platform for managing sales and marketing leads. It will enable users to:

  • Capture leads from various sources.
  • Track the status and progress of leads through a sales pipeline.
  • Automate email communication using Bison integration.
  • Provide analytics and insights to improve lead conversion rates.

The system will be accessible via web and mobile platforms, ensuring flexibility and ease of use for sales and marketing professionals.

3. Functional Requirements

As a Sales or Marketing User:

  • I should be able to add new leads manually or import them from a CSV file.
  • I should be able to view a list of all leads with their statuses.
  • I should be able to assign leads to specific team members.
  • I should be able to track the progress of leads through a pipeline with customizable stages.
  • I should be able to send automated emails to leads using Bison integration.
  • I should be able to set reminders for follow-ups with leads.
  • I should be able to filter and search leads based on various criteria (e.g., status, source, assigned team member).
  • I should be able to view analytics and reports on lead performance and conversion rates.

4. User Personas

  • Needs: A simple interface to view and update lead statuses, set reminders, and send emails.

2. Marketing Manager

  • Role: Oversees lead generation campaigns and assigns leads to the sales team.
  • Goals: Monitor lead performance, optimize campaigns, and ensure leads are nurtured effectively.
  • Needs: Tools for importing leads, assigning them to team members, and generating performance reports.

3. Admin

  • Goals: Ensure the system runs smoothly and securely.
  • Needs: Access to user management, pipeline customization, and system configuration.

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

Color Palette

The happy-lead system will use a vibrant and professional color scheme to reflect energy and productivity:

  • Background: #F9FAFB (Soft White)
  • Surface: #FFFFFF (Pure White)
  • Text: #333333 (Dark Charcoal)
  • Accent: #FF6F61 (Vivid Coral)
  • Muted Tones: #B0BEC5 (Cool Gray)

This palette is designed to create a clean and modern interface that is easy on the eyes while maintaining a professional appearance.

6. Signature Design Concept

The happy-lead homepage will feature an interactive pipeline visualization as its centerpiece.

Concept Details:

  • Pipeline Animation: The homepage will display a dynamic, animated sales pipeline. Leads will appear as small, glowing orbs that move through the pipeline stages in real-time.
  • Interactive Elements: Users can hover over each stage to see detailed statistics (e.g., number of leads, conversion rates) and click on orbs to view individual lead details.
  • Color Transitions: The pipeline will use gradient transitions to represent progress, starting from a cool blue (#4A90E2) for new leads and transitioning to a warm orange (#FF6F61) for closed deals.
  • Micro-Interactions: When users interact with the pipeline, subtle animations (e.g., orbs pulsing or bouncing) will provide feedback.
  • Background: A subtle, animated grid pattern will give the page a sense of depth and movement without being distracting.

This design will make the homepage visually engaging and immediately communicate the system's purpose and functionality.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The system should handle up to 10,000 leads without performance degradation.
  • Scalability: The architecture should support future expansion to accommodate more users and features.
  • Security: All data must be encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest.
  • Availability: The system should have 99.9% uptime, with planned maintenance scheduled during off-peak hours (IST).
  • Localization: The system should support Indian time zones (IST) and currency (INR) by default.

8. Tech Stack
