System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: green-front

1. Introduction

The green-front project aims to create a web application that replicates the full functionality of Arduino Cloud, integrating advanced AI features and tools. This system will leverage open-source resources, ensuring a robust, scalable, and user-friendly solution. The application will include both frontend and backend systems, with seamless integration of AI models and tools to enhance functionality.

This document outlines the requirements, design, and technical specifications for the project, ensuring alignment with Sameer Mehta's vision.

2. System Overview

The green-front system will:

  • Replicate all features available in Arduino Cloud, including IoT dashboards, device control, real-time monitoring, and API integrations.
  • Integrate AI tools for predictive analytics, automation, and user-friendly interactions.
  • Utilize open-source libraries and tools from GitHub to ensure flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide a robust backend system for real-time data processing and storage.
  • Deliver a modern, visually appealing web application with intuitive user flows.

3. Functional Requirements

As User:

  • I should be able to access all Arduino Cloud features, including device management, dashboards, and APIs.
  • I should be able to monitor real-time data from connected devices.
  • I should be able to control devices remotely via the web app.
  • I should be able to leverage AI tools for predictive analytics and automation.

As Admin:

  • I should be able to manage user accounts and permissions.
  • I should be able to oversee system performance and logs.
  • I should be able to integrate new AI tools and libraries from GitHub.

As Guest:

  • I should be able to view public dashboards and data.
  • I should be able to explore the features of the application without creating an account.

4. User Personas

Admin:

  • Role: Manages the system, oversees performance, and integrates new tools.
  • Needs: Full access to all system features, including user management and backend control.

User:

  • Role: Regular user accessing Arduino Cloud features and AI tools.
  • Needs: Seamless interaction with dashboards, device control, and AI-powered analytics.

Guest:

  • Role: Visitor exploring the application without an account.
  • Needs: Limited access to public features and data.

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

Color Palette:

Based on the reference image provided, the color palette for the web app is:

  • Background: #1E1E2E (Dark Slate)
  • Surface: #2A2A3B (Deep Charcoal)
  • Text: #E4E4E7 (Soft White)
  • Accent: #7F5AF0 (Vivid Purple)
  • Muted Tones: #72757E (Muted Gray)

6. Signature Design Concept

Concept: Interactive Circuit Board Interface

The homepage will feature an interactive circuit board design that visually represents Arduino components. Users can hover over different "nodes" (representing sensors, devices, or tools) to see detailed information, animations, and options for interaction.

  • Animations: Nodes will glow and pulse when hovered over, with subtle transitions connecting them to other components.
  • Color Shifts: The circuit board will dynamically adjust its colors based on user interactions, creating a futuristic feel.
  • Micro-Interactions: Clicking on a node will expand it into a detailed dashboard, with real-time data and controls.
  • Background: A dark, textured grid resembling a PCB (Printed Circuit Board).

This design will make the web app visually striking and instantly memorable, aligning with the technical theme of the project.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The system must handle real-time data processing for up to 10,000 devices simultaneously.
  • Scalability: The backend should support future integrations of additional AI tools and Arduino features.
  • Security: Implement robust authentication and encryption mechanisms to protect user data.
  • Accessibility: Ensure the web app is accessible to users with disabilities, adhering to WCAG standards.

8. Tech Stack
