Golden-Privacy System Requirements Document

1. Introduction

Golden-Privacy is a project focused on providing privacy-first analytics solutions. This document outlines the system requirements for the Golden-Privacy project, ensuring that all functionalities and features align with the privacy-first approach.

2. System Overview

Golden-Privacy aims to deliver analytics services that prioritize user privacy. The system will collect, process, and analyze data while ensuring that user privacy is maintained at all times. The system will be designed to comply with relevant privacy regulations and standards.

3. Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As a User, I should be able to access analytics without compromising my personal data.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to configure privacy settings for data collection.
  • As a Developer, I should be able to integrate privacy-first analytics into existing systems using an API.
  • As a Data Analyst, I should be able to generate reports that respect user privacy.
  • As a Compliance Officer, I should be able to audit data collection processes to ensure privacy compliance.

4. User Personas

  • User: Individuals who access analytics services while prioritizing their privacy.
  • Admin: Personnel responsible for configuring and managing privacy settings.
  • Developer: Technical staff integrating analytics into systems.
  • Data Analyst: Professionals analyzing data while maintaining privacy standards.
  • Compliance Officer: Individuals ensuring that data collection complies with privacy regulations.

5. Core User Flows

  • User accesses analytics dashboard -> selects data to view -> views analytics with privacy filters applied.
  • Admin logs into the system -> configures privacy settings -> saves configuration -> monitors compliance.
  • Developer accesses API documentation -> integrates API into system -> tests privacy-first analytics integration.
  • Data Analyst logs into analytics tool -> selects dataset -> generates privacy-compliant report.
  • Compliance Officer reviews data collection logs -> audits privacy settings -> generates compliance report.

7. Signature Design Concept

The Golden-Privacy landing page will feature an interactive data privacy shield. Users can hover over different sections of the shield to reveal privacy features and analytics capabilities. The shield will animate to show data flow being securely processed, emphasizing the privacy-first approach. This concept will be built using motion/react for smooth transitions and interactions.

Landing Hero Motion Brief

The hero section will depict a digital shield that transforms as data flows through it, highlighting the privacy-first transformation. The shield will consist of layers representing different privacy features, each animating to show secure data handling. The animation will loop every 10 seconds, with interactive elements allowing users to explore specific privacy features. The reduced-motion state will maintain the shield's integrity without continuous animation.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

  • Intended Interaction Model: Animated
    • The landing page will feature moderate scroll-triggered reveals and hover transitions, enhancing the privacy-first narrative.
  • Internal Pages: Static
    • Internal pages will focus on layout clarity with minimal motion to ensure ease of use and accessibility.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The system MUST comply with all relevant privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
  • The system SHALL ensure data encryption both at rest and in transit.
  • The system MUST provide audit logs for all data access and modifications.

10. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL or MariaDB, using Alembic for migrations
  • AI Models: Not applicable
  • AI Tools: Not applicable
  • Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

11. Assumptions and Constraints

  • The system assumes users have basic knowledge of privacy settings and analytics.
  • The system is constrained by the need to comply with international privacy laws and standards.

12. Glossary

  • GDPR: General Data Protection Regulation
  • CCPA: California Consumer Privacy Act
  • API: Application Programming Interface
  • Data Encryption: The process of converting data into a code to prevent unauthorized access.
