The "giant-page" project is focused on creating an engaging and informative landing page for a mini barber shop. This document outlines the system requirements necessary to develop a compelling online presence that attracts local clients and showcases the barber shop's services and style.

System Overview

The "giant-page" landing page will serve as the digital front door for the mini barber shop. The system will be designed to be visually appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for both desktop and mobile devices.

Signature Design Concept

The landing page for "giant-page" will feature an interactive "Barber's Chair Experience." As users scroll down the page, they will virtually "sit" in a barber's chair, which will rotate to reveal different sections of the website. Each section will be styled as a different part of the barber shop, such as the waiting area, the styling station, and the gallery wall. This immersive experience will be achieved using @react-three/fiber for 3D rendering and gsap for smooth scroll-triggered animations. Users can click on interactive elements like scissors or combs to reveal more information or book an appointment, creating a dynamic and engaging user journey.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will employ a "parallax" interaction model, providing a layered depth experience as users scroll. Decorative elements like floating hair clippings and barber tools will move at different speeds to create a sense of depth. Key sections will feature scroll-triggered animations to reveal content, ensuring a visually rich and engaging first impression.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The website must load within 3 seconds on a standard broadband connection.
  • The design must be responsive and function seamlessly on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • The system should be accessible, adhering to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL or MariaDB, using alembic for migrations
  • Local orchestration: Docker, docker-compose

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The barber shop will provide all necessary content, including service details and images.
  • The website will be hosted on a platform that supports the chosen tech stack.
  • The system will be developed with scalability in mind to accommodate future enhancements.
