System Requirements Document for giant-like

1. Introduction

The "giant-like" application is designed to provide users with news updates from around the world, similar in concept to the "NewsUpdate" application. The primary audience for this application is individuals interested in consuming global news content in an engaging and bold presentation style.

2. System Overview

The "giant-like" application delivers worldwide news content through a custom user interface. It is designed to be accessed anonymously, allowing users to explore and read news updates without requiring an account. The application consists of two main pages: the "Landing" page, which serves as the entry point and introduction to the application, and the "News" page, where users can browse and read news articles. The application is styled with an editorial minimalism inspired by Tobias van Schneider, focusing on bold typography and a striking color palette.

2a. Product Interpretation and Delivery Boundary

The application is delivered as a web-based platform with a custom user interface. It does not require user authentication, allowing for anonymous access to news content. The application is designed to provide a seamless and engaging experience for users interested in global news. In addition to the reader-facing pages, the application provides an editorial workspace where the Editor prepares and maintains the article headlines, summaries, and accompanying imagery that the News feed and article views present. Future enhancements or additional features are not included in the current scope.

    • Imagery: Full-width editorial photography with monochrome treatment, actually loaded and displayed.
    • Typography: Oversized headline in Playfair Display, all caps, rendered at full size.
