The app aims to deliver clear, accessible information in a user-friendly manner, offering personalized advice based on specific health conditions.

System Overview

The gentle-app will allow users to type or scan any food item to receive detailed nutritional information, including calories, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Additionally, the app will assess whether the food is safe for consumption by diabetic patients and others with specific health conditions. The results will be presented in simple, easy-to-understand language, ensuring accessibility for all users.

Signature Design Concept

The gentle-app will feature an interactive "Nutritional Garden" homepage. Users will enter a serene digital garden where each plant represents a different food category. By clicking on a plant, users can explore its nutritional details, which bloom like flowers with information petals. The garden will change from day to night, with colors shifting subtly to reflect the time of day. This concept will use @react-three/fiber for 3D interactions and gsap for smooth transitions and animations. Users can hover over plants to see a preview of nutritional information, and clicking will expand the details in an engaging, animated manner.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, creating a layered depth effect as users scroll through the digital garden. Decorative elements like floating pollen particles and gentle breezes will move at different speeds, enhancing the immersive experience. Internal pages will adopt a "static" model to prioritize readability and ease of use, ensuring that users can quickly access the information they need without distraction.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The app must load nutritional information within 2 seconds.
  • The app should be accessible to users with visual impairments, adhering to WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
  • The app must support both English and Hindi languages to cater to the Indian audience.
