frozen-todo

1. Introduction

The frozen-todo project is a unique and engaging task management application designed for users who want a playful, tactile experience while managing their to-do lists. Inspired by the satisfying sensation of popping bubble wrap, this project aims to make task management less of a chore and more of an enjoyable activity.

This document outlines the system requirements for frozen-todo, incorporating the creative vision of Hemen Ashodia from India. The application will cater to users across different time zones, with a default timezone set to IST (Indian Standard Time).

2. System Overview

The frozen-todo application will provide users with a tactile, bubble-wrap-inspired interface for managing tasks. Users will be able to "pop" completed tasks, creating a satisfying and rewarding experience. Additionally, the app will include tactile-inspired interactions for adding, organizing, and managing tasks. The system will support multiple categories or lists, such as "Work" and "Personal," to help users organize their tasks effectively.

The application will be available as a web app and a mobile app, ensuring accessibility across devices. It will leverage modern technologies to deliver a seamless, responsive, and visually appealing user experience.

3. Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to add tasks to my to-do list.
  • As a User, I should be able to categorize tasks into different lists, such as "Work" and "Personal."
  • As a User, I should be able to mark tasks as completed by "popping" them, mimicking the sensation of popping bubble wrap.
  • As a User, I should be able to delete tasks by interacting with a tactile-inspired interface.
  • As a User, I should be able to reorder tasks within a list using drag-and-drop functionality.
  • As a User, I should be able to view my tasks in a visually engaging, bubble-wrap-inspired layout.
  • As a User, I should receive a satisfying visual and auditory feedback (e.g., a "pop" sound) when completing tasks.
  • As a User, I should be able to switch between different categories or lists easily.
  • As a User, I should be able to sync my tasks across devices.

4. User Personas

  • Admin: Responsible for managing the backend, monitoring system performance, and ensuring smooth operation of the application.
  • User: The primary user of the application who creates, manages, and completes tasks.

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

The frozen-todo application will feature a playful and vibrant color palette inspired by bubble wrap. The following colors will be used:

  • Primary Color: Soft pastel blue (#AEE1F9) to evoke calmness and focus.
  • Secondary Color: Pastel pink (#FFC1CC) for a playful and engaging vibe.
  • Accent Color: Bright yellow (#FFEB3B) for highlighting interactive elements.
  • Background Color: Light gray (#F5F5F5) to keep the interface clean and minimal.
  • Text Color: Dark gray (#333333) for readability.

The theme will emphasize rounded shapes and tactile elements, with buttons and interactive components resembling bubble wrap bubbles.

6. Signature Design Concept

The frozen-todo homepage will feature an interactive bubble-wrap-inspired interface. The landing page will display a grid of translucent, 3D-rendered "bubbles" that represent tasks. Each bubble will have a slight shimmer effect and will "inflate" slightly when hovered over.

When a user clicks on a bubble to mark a task as completed, the bubble will "pop" with a satisfying animation and sound effect. The animation will include a quick burst of confetti and a subtle vibration (on supported devices) to enhance the tactile experience.

Adding a task will involve "blowing up" a new bubble. Users will click a "+" button, and a new bubble will inflate into the grid with a smooth animation. The bubble will then prompt the user to enter the task details.

The homepage will also feature a dynamic background that mimics the look of a bubble wrap sheet, with bubbles subtly shifting and shimmering as the user interacts with the interface.

Transitions between categories or lists will involve a "bubble wave" animation, where bubbles ripple across the screen to reveal the new list.

This design concept ensures that the frozen-todo application is not only functional but also visually and interactively unforgettable.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application must load within 2 seconds on both web and mobile platforms.
  • The system must support at least 10,000 concurrent users.
  • The application must provide a seamless experience across devices, with responsive design principles.
  • The system must ensure data security and privacy, adhering to GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • The application must support offline functionality, allowing users to manage tasks without an active internet connection.
