frozen-healthcare System Requirements Document

Introduction

The "frozen-healthcare" project is designed to streamline operations and enhance patient care within healthcare facilities. This system will serve both hospital staff and patients, providing tailored access and functionalities to meet the diverse needs of its users.

System Overview

The frozen-healthcare system is a comprehensive healthcare hospitality tracker aimed at improving the efficiency of hospital operations and enhancing patient experiences. By integrating multiple user roles, the system ensures that hospital staff, doctors, and patients can interact with the platform in ways that are most beneficial to their specific needs. The system will facilitate communication, scheduling, and data management, ultimately leading to improved healthcare outcomes.

Functional Requirements

  • As a Hospital Staff, I should be able to manage patient records and schedules.
  • As a Doctor, I should be able to access and update patient treatment plans.
  • As a Patient, I should be able to view my medical history and upcoming appointments.
  • As an Administrator, I should be able to manage user roles and permissions.

User Personas

  • Hospital Staff: Responsible for managing patient records, scheduling, and general operations.
  • Doctors: Medical professionals who provide treatment and update patient care plans.
  • Patients: Individuals receiving care, who need access to their medical information and appointments.
  • Administrators: Users with the ability to manage system settings, user roles, and permissions.

Signature Design Concept

The frozen-healthcare homepage will feature an interactive 3D hospital environment using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei. Users can navigate through a virtual hospital, where each department is represented as a distinct area within the 3D space. Hovering over different sections will reveal information about services and staff, while clicking will allow users to dive deeper into specific functionalities like scheduling or patient records. This immersive experience will make the platform engaging and intuitive, providing users with a unique way to interact with the healthcare system.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will employ a "parallax" interaction model, creating a layered depth effect as users scroll through the site. This will be achieved through decorative layers that move at different speeds, enhancing the storytelling aspect of the platform. Internal pages, such as dashboards and settings, will adopt a "static" model to prioritize clarity and ease of use for data-heavy tasks.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The system must ensure data security and patient confidentiality.
  • The platform should be scalable to accommodate growing user numbers.
  • The application should maintain high availability and reliability.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python with FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL or MariaDB, using Alembic for migrations
  • Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose
  • Server-Side Orchestration: Kubernetes

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The system will operate within the Indian healthcare context, adhering to local regulations and standards.
  • Users will access the platform primarily through web browsers.
  • The system must integrate with existing hospital IT infrastructure.

Glossary

  • CTAs: Call to Actions
  • UI: User Interface
  • 3D: Three-Dimensional
  • RDBMS: Relational Database Management System
