As per Indian pharmacy regulations, Schedule H, H1, and X drugs require a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner before purchase. These include:
- Antibiotics (e.g., Amoxicillin, Azithromycin, Ciprofloxacin)
- Antidiabetics (e.g., Metformin, Glipizide, Insulin)
- Antihypertensives (e.g., Amlodipine, Telmisartan, Losartan)
- Psychotropic and narcotic medications (Schedule X)
- Certain branded combination drugs and steroids
Our licensed pharmacists typically review and verify prescriptions within 2–4 hours on working days (Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–7 PM IST). Prescriptions submitted after 6 PM or on Sundays/public holidays will be reviewed on the next working day. You will receive an SMS and email notification once your prescription is verified or if any clarification is needed.
Yes. All prescription files are encrypted using 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption during upload and stored in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian health data regulations. Your prescription is only accessible to our licensed pharmacists for verification purposes and is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent.
A single prescription can be used for multiple orders within its validity period, subject to the following conditions:
- The prescription must be valid (typically 30 days for most drugs, 6 months for chronic condition medicines)
- The quantity dispensed across all orders must not exceed the total prescribed quantity
- Schedule H1 and X drugs can only be dispensed once per prescription
If your prescription is rejected, you will receive a detailed reason via SMS and email. Common rejection reasons include:
- Blurry, illegible, or incomplete prescription image
- Doctor's registration number (MCI/State Council) missing
- Prescription date is older than the validity period
- Prescribed medicine does not match the ordered product
You can upload a new, corrected prescription directly from the Prescriptions page at any time.
You can obtain a digital prescription by consulting a registered doctor via any telemedicine platform licensed under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines (2020) issued by the Government of India — such as Apollo 247, Practo, or 1mg Consult. The doctor will issue an e-prescription (PDF) directly, which you can upload here. Alternatively, you may scan or photograph a physical prescription from your clinic visit, ensuring it is clearly legible with the doctor's stamp and signature visible.
