Earthy-Design System Requirements Document

Introduction

The "Earthy-Design" project aims to develop a single-page to-do application with a minimalist and clean aesthetic. This application is intended for personal use, focusing on simplicity and ease of use to enhance productivity without unnecessary distractions.

System Overview

The Earthy-Design application will be a single-page web application designed to manage personal tasks efficiently. The focus will be on providing a seamless user experience with a minimalist design, allowing users to add, edit, and delete tasks effortlessly. The application will be built using modern web technologies to ensure responsiveness and performance.

Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to add new tasks to my to-do list.
  • As a User, I should be able to edit existing tasks.
  • As a User, I should be able to delete tasks from my list.
  • As a User, I should be able to view all tasks on a single page.

Signature Design Concept

The homepage of Earthy-Design will feature an interactive "Zen Garden" theme. Users will interact with their task list as if they are tending to a digital garden. Each task will be represented as a plant, and users can "water" (complete) or "prune" (delete) tasks with simple drag-and-drop gestures. The garden will subtly animate with gentle swaying and growth effects using framer-motion for smooth transitions and interactions. This concept aims to make task management a serene and engaging experience, encouraging users to nurture their productivity.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application should load within 2 seconds on a standard broadband connection.
  • The interface should be responsive and accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • The application should be intuitive and require no more than 5 minutes for a new user to understand its functionality.
