System Requirements Document for eagle-hey

1. Introduction

This document specifies the public website for United Scientific Group (USG) presenting the 12th International Conference on Cancer Research & Drug Development, held October 13–15, 2027 in Houston, TX, at the Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas.

The product intent is a single, authoritative public information surface where a scientific and clinical audience can read the conference identity, its dates, its host city, and its venue. The site is a presentation surface for USG and the conference; it exists to communicate the event's exact facts with the precision and quiet status appropriate to serious cancer research and drug development work.

The audience is twofold: Conference attendees — scientists and clinicians who want to learn about the conference and read its dates, Houston location, and venue — and Conference organizers — the USG party that presents and publishes the event title, dates, city, and venue to a public audience.

2. System Overview

The delivered system is a public, no-account website. It consists of a React frontend that renders the Landing page, a shared FastAPI backend process that serves application APIs and domain modules, and a MariaDB database provisioned for application-owned persistent data. The Landing page is publicly reachable with no access requirement; no identity, sign-in, or account state is part of the accepted product.

Current accepted behavior is presentational and informational only:

  • The site presents United Scientific Group (USG).
  • The site presents the 12th International Conference on Cancer Research & Drug Development.
  • The site shows the conference dates: October 13–15, 2027.
  • The site shows the conference location: Houston, TX.
  • The site shows the venue: Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas.

Both accepted personas — Conference attendee and Conference organizer — interact with the same public Landing surface: the attendee reads the published facts, and the organizer's published facts are what the page presents. No registration, submission, ticketing, payment, program scheduling, speaker directory, or account capability is part of the accepted scope.

Removed from scope

  • None. No concept was explicitly removed by the user.

2a. Product Interpretation and Delivery Boundary

The website is a first-party, publicly accessible presentation surface owned by the application. Its single destination, Landing, is reachable by anyone with no access requirement, and it carries the complete accepted content: USG's identity, the conference title, the dates October 13–15, 2027, the city Houston, TX, and the venue Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas.

Because the accepted product is public and ephemeral — a reader arrives, reads the event facts, and leaves — there is no application-owned identity, no sign-in, no session continuity, and no protected destination. The organizer's role is expressed through the published content itself rather than through an administrative surface; no authoring, editing, or content-management interface is accepted. The backend and database are provisioned infrastructure supporting the application; they do not by themselves introduce domain entities, accounts, or workflows beyond serving the public page.

Everything in this document is current. No future-horizon capabilities have been accepted.

2c. Page Content and Component Coverage

Landing

Information and state

  • United Scientific Group (USG) identity as the presenting organization.
  • Conference title: 12th International Conference on Cancer Research & Drug Development.
  • Conference dates: October 13–15, 2027.
  • Conference location: Houston, TX.
  • Venue: Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas.
  • No user-specific or persisted state; the page is identical for every visitor.

Primary actions

  • Read the conference identity, dates, city, and venue. This is the page's only accepted interaction; there is no submission, booking, or account action.

Supporting actions

  • Scan the aligned label/value data rows for date, city, and venue.
  • Read the numbered section labels to orient within the page.

Domain entities

  • Conference (title, edition number, dates, city, venue) — presented as read-only facts.
  • Presenting organization (United Scientific Group) — presented as read-only identity.
  • Venue (Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas) — presented as a read-only fact.

Component responsibilities

  • Hero band — full-bleed dark graphite ground; left column stacks the condensed uppercase headline (44px mobile to 96px desktop) over ruled data rows for Houston and the venue; right side carries the circular date dial gauge.
  • Date dial gauge — circular ring showing October 13–15, 2027 as three tick marks with an amber needle; restrained needle sweep and number count-up on scroll.
  • Ruled data rows — aligned label and value rows for date, city, and venue with hairline champagne rules.
  • Numbered instrument labels — each section opens with a numbered micro-label in a ruled row.
  • Topographic line overlay — decorative line texture behind data rows, never covering readable text or controls.

States

  • Loading — the page renders its static content directly; any brief asset load shows the graphite ground and reserved layout space rather than empty white.
  • Empty — not applicable; the page always carries the accepted conference facts.
  • Success — all five accepted facts (USG, conference title, dates, Houston, venue) are fully readable at 375px, 768px, and 1280px, with no text or control cropped or covered.
  • Error — if a supporting asset fails, the text content remains fully readable on the graphite ground.
  • Recovery — reloading the page restores the full presentation; no user data is at risk because none is stored.

3. Functional Requirements

FR-1 — Present United Scientific Group (USG) As a Conference attendee, I should see United Scientific Group (USG) identified on the website, so that I know which organization is presenting the conference.

  • Provenance: explicit.
  • Lifecycle: trigger — visitor opens Landing; input — none; observable result — the USG identity is displayed; access — public, no identity; failure/recovery — if the identity block fails to render, the remaining facts stay readable and a reload restores it; continuation — the visitor continues to the conference facts.
  • Acceptance: "United Scientific Group (USG)" is visible on Landing at 375px, 768px, and 1280px.

FR-2 — Present the conference title As a Conference attendee, I should see the conference named "12th International Conference on Cancer Research & Drug Development," so that I know exactly which conference the site is about.

  • Provenance: explicit.
  • Lifecycle: trigger — visitor opens Landing; observable result — the full conference title is displayed; access — public; failure/recovery — title remains readable even if decorative assets fail; continuation — the visitor reads the dates and location.
  • Acceptance: the exact title string is visible and fully readable at all three viewports.

FR-3 — Show the conference dates As a Conference attendee, I should see that the conference runs October 13–15, 2027, so that I can plan around the correct dates.

  • Provenance: explicit.
  • Lifecycle: trigger — visitor opens Landing; observable result — "October 13–15, 2027" appears in the ruled data rows and as three tick marks on the date dial; access — public; failure/recovery — the textual date remains readable even if the dial animation is unavailable or reduced-motion is set; continuation — the visitor reads the city and venue.
  • Acceptance: the date string is visible and fully readable at all three viewports, including with prefers-reduced-motion.

FR-4 — Show the conference location As a Conference attendee, I should see that the conference is in Houston, TX, so that I know the host city.

  • Provenance: explicit.
  • Lifecycle: trigger — visitor opens Landing; observable result — "Houston, TX" appears in an aligned label/value row; access — public; failure/recovery — the row remains readable if other elements fail; continuation — the visitor reads the venue.
  • Acceptance: "Houston, TX" is visible and fully readable at all three viewports.

FR-5 — Show the venue As a Conference attendee, I should see that the venue is Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas, so that I know where to go.

  • Provenance: explicit.
  • Lifecycle: trigger — visitor opens Landing; observable result — the full venue name appears in an aligned label/value row; access — public; failure/recovery — the venue text wraps rather than clipping at narrow viewports; continuation — the visitor has the complete set of event facts.
  • Acceptance: the full venue string is visible and fully readable at 375px, 768px, and 1280px.

FR-6 — Publish the conference details to a public audience As a Conference organizer, I should have the event title, dates, city, and venue presented on the public website, so that the scientific and clinical audience can read accurate event facts.

  • Provenance: required_inference (organizer role from Planning Scope).
  • Lifecycle: trigger — organizer's published facts are rendered on Landing; observable result — the attendee sees USG, the title, October 13–15, 2027, Houston, TX, and the Sheraton North Houston venue; access — public; failure/recovery — the page presents the facts statically so a failed asset never removes them; continuation — the organizer's presentation is complete once all five facts are readable.
  • Acceptance: all five accepted facts are simultaneously visible on Landing.

4. User Personas

Conference attendee

  • Product context: A scientist or clinician evaluating the 12th International Conference on Cancer Research & Drug Development. They arrive at the public site with no account and no prior session.
  • Primary goal: Learn what the conference is and read its exact dates, host city, and venue.
  • Distinct accepted responsibilities: Reading and comprehending the published facts — USG as presenter, the conference title, October 13–15, 2027, Houston, TX, and the Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas.
  • Inputs and decisions: No data entry; the attendee's decision is whether the event's identity, timing, and location match their interest.
  • Interactions with other participants: Consumes the facts published by the Conference organizer; the two roles meet on the same public Landing page.
  • Observable success: All five accepted facts are fully readable on Landing at any viewport, with no text cropped or covered.

Conference organizer

  • Product context: The USG party responsible for presenting the conference to a public audience through the website.
  • Primary goal: Ensure the public site accurately presents USG, the conference title, the dates, Houston, and the venue.
  • Distinct accepted responsibilities: Publishing the event title, dates, city, and venue as the site's presented content. The organizer's work is expressed through the published page, not through an authoring interface.
  • Inputs and decisions: The authoritative event facts — title, October 13–15, 2027, Houston, TX, Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas.
  • Interactions with other participants: The organizer's published facts are what the Conference attendee reads; the attendee's comprehension is the organizer's outcome.
  • Observable success: The Landing page displays all five accepted facts correctly and readably for the public.

5. Core User Flows

Flow A — Conference attendee reads the conference facts

  1. The attendee opens the public Landing page. No sign-in or account step occurs.
  2. The full-bleed graphite hero renders with the condensed uppercase headline and the circular date dial on the right.
  3. The attendee reads United Scientific Group (USG) and the conference title 12th International Conference on Cancer Research & Drug Development.
  4. The attendee reads the date row: October 13–15, 2027, reinforced by three tick marks and an amber needle on the dial.
  5. The attendee reads the location row: Houston, TX.
  6. The attendee reads the venue row: Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas.
  7. Result: the attendee has the complete set of accepted event facts. Continuation: the attendee leaves the site or re-reads any row. Failure/recovery: if a decorative asset or the dial animation fails, or prefers-reduced-motion is set, the textual facts remain fully readable; reloading restores the full presentation.

Flow B — Conference organizer's presentation is received by the public

  1. The organizer's accepted event facts are rendered on the public Landing page.
  2. A visitor arrives anonymously and sees USG, the conference title, October 13–15, 2027, Houston, TX, and the Sheraton North Houston venue.
  3. Result: the organizer's presentation is complete — every accepted fact is simultaneously visible and readable at 375px, 768px, and 1280px.
  4. Failure/recovery: because the facts are presented statically on the graphite ground, a failed supporting asset never removes them; a reload restores the full page. Continuation: the organizer's published page remains the public record of the event facts.

6. Visuals Colors and Theme

Authoritative creative direction: Precision instrument for serious science, muse MARQ by Garmin — luxury instrument aesthetic. Headline: exact science, high trust, quiet status.

Mode: dark.

Color tokens

RoleHex
Background (graphite ground)#101214
Surface (panels)#1A1D20
Text#F2EFE9
Primary (champagne — rules and labels)#C9A66B
Accent (amber — dates and one call to action only)#E8A33D

Typography

  • Headings: Barlow Condensed, weight 600, condensed uppercase, wide tracking on micro-labels.
  • Body: Saira, weight 400.
  • Scale: 1.25 modular — 44 / 34 / 26 / 18 / 15; main headline clamp() from 44px mobile to 96px desktop.

Shape language: circular gauge rings and thin ruled data rows; small 4px radii on panels; hard-edged full-width bands. No rounded pill buttons.

Layout: asymmetric grid with a wide left data column and a narrow right rail for venue facts; each section opens with a numbered instrument label.

Imagery: macro material textures and dark lab photography with a single amber light; topographic line overlays behind data rows.

Avoid: gradient blobs, glass cards, bright white ground, rounded pill buttons, stock photos of smiling people, blue or indigo accents.

Readability rule: headlines, wordmarks, labels, numbers, and controls stay entirely inside the viewport and their containers at 375px, 768px, and 1280px, wrapping or scaling to fit; decoration may bleed or overlap but never covers readable text or controls.

7. Signature Design Concept

The public entry is a full-bleed dark graphite instrument face. On the right, a large circular gauge ring renders October 13–15, 2027 as three tick marks with a single amber needle — the conference dates read as a dial reading. On the left, a wide data column stacks the condensed uppercase headline at 44px–96px over aligned label/value rows: Houston, TX and Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas, separated by hairline champagne rules. Each section opens with a numbered micro-label in a ruled row, like an instrument bezel. Topographic line overlays sit behind the data rows as texture only. The composition recomposes only the accepted facts — USG, the conference title, the dates, the city, and the venue — into a precision readout.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

Interaction Model: Animated Motion Tempo: restrained Hero Dimensionality: dimensional_css

Landing Hero Motion Brief

  • Focal subject: the circular date dial gauge on the right, with the condensed headline and ruled data rows on the left.
  • Input → transformation → outcome thesis: as the visitor scrolls into the hero, the amber needle sweeps to its resting position across the three tick marks for October 13–15, 2027, and the date numerals count up into place; the outcome is the dates read as a settled instrument reading, with Houston and the venue rows revealed beneath hairline champagne rules.
  • Motion vocabulary: restrained needle sweeps and number count-ups on scroll; no bounce, no particles.
  • Composed first frame: graphite ground #101214, headline upper-left in Barlow Condensed 600 uppercase, the dial ring at rest on the right, champagne rules visible, amber reserved for the dates and one call to action.
  • Reduced-motion state: the dial renders at its final needle position with the dates fully legible as text; count-ups are skipped; all rows are statically arranged and fully readable.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Public access (explicit): Landing has no access requirement; no identity, sign-in, or account state is introduced.
  • Readability across viewports (explicit, from design constraints): all readable text and controls remain whole and inside the viewport and their containers at 375px, 768px, and 1280px; the venue string wraps rather than clipping.
  • Reduced motion (explicit, from design constraints): with prefers-reduced-motion, a usable static arrangement is provided with all facts readable.
  • Content fidelity (explicit): the exact strings "United Scientific Group (USG)", "12th International Conference on Cancer Research & Drug Development", "October 13–15, 2027", "Houston, TX", and "Sheraton North Houston at George Bush Intercontinental, Texas" are presented verbatim.
  • Visual fidelity (explicit, from creative direction): the specified palette, fonts, dark mode, shape language, and layout are honored; the generic indigo/blue-on-white SaaS template is forbidden.
  • No persistence of visitor data (required_inference): the page is stateless for visitors; no visitor data is collected or stored.

10. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React application UI rendering the Landing page.
  • Backend: shared FastAPI process for application APIs and domain modules.
  • Database: MariaDB, provisioned for application-owned persistent data (no domain entities are required by the accepted presentational scope).
  • Infrastructure: Docker/docker-compose for the frontend, backend, and database services.
