eagle-create System Requirements Document

1. Introduction

The "eagle-create" project focuses on developing a modern mobile application called "Coin & Banknote Scanner AI". This app allows users to take photos of coins or banknotes, which are then analyzed by AI to identify and classify them as rare, collectible, or common.

2. System Overview

The "Coin & Banknote Scanner AI" app is designed to serve as a professional numismatic assistant, leveraging advanced AI and computer vision technologies to provide users with instant identification and analysis of coins and banknotes. The app aims to deliver a seamless user experience with a premium modern UI, featuring glassmorphism effects and smooth animations.

3. Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As a User, I want to take a photo of a coin or banknote to have it identified by AI.
  • As a User, I want to upload an image from my gallery for coin or banknote identification.
  • As a User, I want the app to automatically recognize the country, year, denomination, mint mark, and material of the coin or banknote.
  • As a User, I want the app to analyze the rarity of the coin or banknote and classify it as Common, Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare, or Extremely Rare.
  • As a User, I want to receive an estimated market value of the coin or banknote in USD and EUR.
  • As a User, I want to receive a detailed description and history of the coin or banknote.
  • As a User, I want the app to detect error coins, such as misprints, double strikes, and rare variants.
  • As a User, I want to save scanned items in a collection manager.
  • As a User, I want to search a database of world coins and banknotes.
  • As a User, I want to switch between dark and light mode.
  • As a User, I want the app to support multiple languages.
  • As a User, I want to receive a recommendation on whether to keep, sell, or seek professional appraisal for the coin or banknote.

4. User Personas

  • Collector: An individual who collects coins and banknotes as a hobby or investment.
  • Appraiser: A professional who evaluates the value and authenticity of coins and banknotes.
  • Curious User: Someone interested in learning more about coins and banknotes they encounter.

5. Core User Flows

  • User opens the app -> selects "Scan Coin" or "Scan Banknote" -> takes a photo or uploads an image -> AI analyzes the image -> displays identification and analysis results -> user saves the item to their collection or views detailed information.
  • User accesses "My Collection" -> views saved items -> selects an item for detailed view or edits collection details.
  • User opens "Search" -> enters search criteria -> browses database results -> views detailed information on selected items.

7. Signature Design Concept

The home page of the "Coin & Banknote Scanner AI" app will feature an interactive 3D coin and banknote gallery. Users can swipe through a carousel of coins and banknotes, each rendered with realistic textures and lighting effects. When a user selects an item, it flips to reveal detailed information and historical context. The gallery will use @react-three/fiber for 3D rendering and gsap for smooth animations and transitions.

Landing Hero Motion Brief

The landing hero will feature a dynamic animation where a coin is placed under a virtual magnifying glass. As the user scrolls, the magnifying glass zooms in, revealing intricate details of the coin, such as engravings and mint marks. The animation will loop every 10 seconds, showcasing different coins and banknotes. This will be achieved using motion/react for animations and transitions.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

  • Interaction Model: Animated
  • The landing page will feature moderate scroll-triggered reveals and hover transitions. Interactive elements will have spring physics for a polished user experience. The app will maintain a professional and engaging feel, suitable for both collectors and casual users.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The app must process images and provide results within 3 seconds.
  • The app must support offline access to saved collections.
  • The app must ensure data privacy and secure storage of user information.

10. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React Native for mobile app
  • Backend: Python with FastAPI
  • Database: MongoDB for flexible data storage
  • AI Models: GPT 5.4 for user-friendly responses, Google Nano banana for image generation
  • AI Tools: Litellm for LLM Routing, Langchain
  • Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

11. Assumptions and Constraints

  • The app will primarily target users interested in numismatics.
  • The app will be available in multiple languages to cater to a global audience.
  • The app will require internet access for real-time analysis and database searches.
