dsa_manthra System Requirements Document

Introduction

The purpose of this System Requirements Document (SRD) is to outline the functional and non-functional requirements for the project "dsa_manthra." This document serves as a comprehensive guide for the development and implementation of the system, ensuring that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the project's objectives and deliverables.

System Overview

The "dsa_manthra" project is designed to provide a robust and efficient solution for managing data structures and algorithms. The system will cater to various user personas, offering functionalities that enhance the learning and application of these concepts.

Functional Requirements as Story Points

  • As a User, I should be able to access a library of data structures and algorithms for learning and reference.
  • As a User, I should be able to execute algorithms with sample data to see their performance and results.
  • As an Admin, I should be able to update the library with new data structures and algorithms.
  • As a User, I should be able to bookmark favorite algorithms for quick access.
  • As an API Supervisor, I should be able to manually trigger an agent to resolve pre-defined tasks.

User Personas

  • User: Individuals seeking to learn or reference data structures and algorithms.
  • Admin: Personnel responsible for maintaining and updating the library content.
  • API Supervisor: A role responsible for overseeing API operations and manually triggering agent tasks.

Core User Flows

  • User accesses the library -> selects an algorithm -> executes with sample data -> views results.
  • Admin logs in -> updates library content -> verifies changes.
  • API Supervisor logs in -> triggers manual agent task -> monitors task completion.

Signature Design Concept

The homepage of "dsa_manthra" will feature an interactive algorithm visualization. Users can drag and drop data elements into a virtual workspace where they can see real-time animations of algorithms processing the data. This interactive experience will be powered by motion/react for smooth transitions and animations. The visualization will include a dynamic flow where data elements move through different stages of the algorithm, providing a clear understanding of the process.

Landing Hero Motion Brief

The landing hero will depict a series of data elements entering a virtual workspace, where they are sorted and organized by an algorithm. As the algorithm processes the data, users will see elements dynamically rearrange, highlighting the transformation from unsorted to sorted. This loop will last 10 seconds, with interactive elements allowing users to pause and explore specific stages. The animation will be created using motion/react for seamless integration and responsiveness.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The intended interaction model for the landing page is "animated." This will include moderate scroll-triggered reveals, hover transitions, and spring physics on interactive elements, providing a polished and engaging user experience.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The system should be highly available and capable of handling multiple concurrent users.
  • Security measures must be in place to protect user data and system integrity.
  • The system should be responsive and accessible on various devices and screen sizes.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python, FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL or MariaDB
  • AI Models: Not applicable unless specified
  • Local Orchestration: Docker, docker-compose
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The system will primarily serve users in India, considering local timezone and currency formats.
  • Internet connectivity is assumed for accessing the system's online features.

Glossary

  • API Supervisor: A role responsible for managing API operations and triggering manual tasks.
  • Agent: A software component that performs specific tasks as triggered by the API Supervisor.
  • Data Structures: Organized formats for storing and managing data.
  • Algorithms: Step-by-step procedures for solving problems or performing tasks.
