crystal-website

1. Introduction

The crystal-website is an online voting system designed for class elections. This project aims to streamline the election process, ensuring it is efficient, secure, and accessible to all stakeholders. The system will cater to students, administrators, and potentially teachers, providing a seamless experience for voting, managing elections, and viewing results.

This document outlines the system's requirements, including functional and non-functional aspects, user personas, design concepts, and technical specifications.

Interactive Crystal Ball Homepage

The homepage will feature an interactive crystal ball as its centerpiece. This crystal ball will serve as a metaphor for transparency and clarity in the election process.

  • Visuals: A 3D-rendered crystal ball that rotates slowly on the screen, reflecting the website's color palette.
  • Interaction: Hovering over the crystal ball will reveal key features of the system, such as "Register to Vote," "View Polls," and "Admin Login," displayed as glowing orbs inside the crystal ball.
  • Animations: Subtle sparkles and light refractions will animate around the crystal ball, creating a magical yet professional feel.
  • Transitions: Smooth page transitions will mimic the crystal ball "shattering" into fragments that reform into the next page's content.

This design will make the website memorable and engaging while reinforcing the theme of transparency and fairness in elections.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The system should handle up to 1,000 concurrent users without performance degradation.
  • Security: All user data, including votes, must be encrypted and stored securely.
  • Scalability: The system should be scalable to support elections across multiple classes or institutions.
  • Accessibility: The website must be accessible to users with disabilities, adhering to WCAG 2.1 standards.
  • Localization: The system should support English as the primary language, with the option to add Hindi or other regional languages in the future.
