cosmic-idea System Requirements Document

1. Introduction

The purpose of this document is to outline the system requirements for the "cosmic-idea" project. This project aims to create a landing page for a full-stack developer, targeting potential clients. The landing page will feature sections such as About, Projects, Experience, and Contact Me, all within a single-page layout with section-based navigation.

2. System Overview

The cosmic-idea project is designed to provide a professional and engaging online presence for a full-stack developer. The landing page will serve as a portfolio and contact point for potential clients, showcasing the developer's skills, past projects, experience, and contact information. The page will be designed to be visually appealing and easy to navigate, with a focus on user experience.

3. Functional Requirements

  • As a Client, I should be able to view the developer's About section to understand their background and expertise.
  • As a Client, I should be able to browse through the Projects section to see examples of the developer's work.
  • As a Client, I should be able to review the Experience section to learn about the developer's professional history.
  • As a Client, I should be able to use the Contact Me section to reach out to the developer directly.
  • As a Client, I should be able to navigate between sections smoothly within the single-page layout.

4. User Personas

  • Client: A potential client looking for a full-stack developer to hire for their projects. They are interested in the developer's skills, past work, and how to contact them.

5. Core User Flows

  • Client visits the landing page -> Scrolls to the About section -> Reads about the developer's background.
  • Client navigates to the Projects section -> Views examples of past work.
  • Client moves to the Experience section -> Reviews the developer's professional history.
  • Client accesses the Contact Me section -> Fills out the contact form to reach the developer.

6. Visuals Colors and Theme

  • primary_light: #E8F0FE (a light blue for hover states)
  • secondary: #FF6F61 (a coral hue for emphasis and links)
  • accent: #FFD700 (a vibrant gold for CTAs and active states)

7. Signature Design Concept

The cosmic-idea landing page will feature an interactive galaxy map as the homepage. Each section (About, Projects, Experience, Contact Me) will be represented as a star within the galaxy. Clients can click on a star to zoom into that section, with smooth transitions powered by framer-motion. The galaxy will subtly rotate and shift as users navigate, creating a dynamic and engaging experience. The use of @react-three/fiber will enable 3D interactions, making the page feel immersive and futuristic.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, creating a sense of depth and movement as users scroll through the sections. Each section will have a unique visual mechanic, such as a 3D scene for the Projects section or kinetic typography in the About section. The page will be visually rich, with layered animations and transitions to enhance storytelling and engagement.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The landing page must be responsive and accessible on various devices and screen sizes.
  • The page should load quickly, with optimized images and assets.
  • The design should adhere to web accessibility standards to ensure usability for all users.

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Not applicable (static site)
  • Database: Not applicable
  • AI Models: Not applicable
  • Local orchestration: Docker
  • Server-side orchestration: Not applicable

11. Assumptions and Constraints

  • The landing page will be a single-page application with no backend integration.

  • The project will adhere to the specified color palette and design concept.

12. Glossary
