Project Name: Arctic-Apps

1. Introduction

The Arctic-Apps project is designed to address the dual needs of customers and businesses in managing out-of-stock products. Customers will be able to reschedule deliveries for missing products, while businesses can track and reorder these items efficiently. This app aims to streamline the supply chain process, reduce customer frustration, and improve inventory management for businesses.

Given Gokulraj's vision and the context of the Indian market, Arctic-Apps will incorporate features such as notifications, analytics, and reporting to ensure a seamless experience for all stakeholders.

2. System Overview

Arctic-Apps will serve as a comprehensive platform for:

  1. Customers: Allowing them to reschedule deliveries of out-of-stock products, receive notifications when products are back in stock, and track their orders.
  2. Businesses: Enabling them to monitor missing products, reorder inventory, and analyze trends in product availability through detailed reporting and analytics.

The system will consist of:

  • A web application for businesses to manage inventory and access analytics.
  • A mobile application for customers to interact with their orders and notifications.
  • A backend system to handle data processing, notifications, and analytics.

The platform will prioritize user-friendly interfaces, real-time updates, and robust data security.

3. Functional Requirements

Customer-Facing Features

  • As a Customer, I should be able to reschedule the delivery of out-of-stock products.
  • As a Customer, I should be notified when a product is back in stock.
  • As a Customer, I should be able to track my order status in real-time.

Business-Facing Features

  • As a Business, I should be able to track missing products in my inventory.
  • As a Business, I should be able to reorder missing products directly from the app.
  • As a Business, I should be able to view analytics and reports on product availability trends.

4. User Personas

1. Customer

  • Description: End-users who purchase products and may encounter out-of-stock situations.
  • Needs: Rescheduling deliveries, receiving notifications, and tracking orders.
  • Pain Points: Delays in delivery, lack of communication about product availability.

2. Business User

  • Description: Retailers, wholesalers, or supply chain managers responsible for inventory management.
  • Needs: Tracking missing products, reordering inventory, and accessing analytics.

Color Palette

The Arctic-Apps project will use a modern, professional, and slightly futuristic color palette to reflect its dual-purpose functionality:

  • Background: #F4F9FF (Soft Arctic Blue)
  • Surface: #FFFFFF (Pure White)
  • Text: #1A1A1A (Deep Charcoal)
  • Accent: #0077B6 (Vivid Arctic Blue)
  • Muted Tones: #B0C4DE (Light Steel Blue)

This palette ensures clarity, professionalism, and a sense of trustworthiness while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic.

6. Signature Design Concept

Interactive Iceberg Dashboard

The homepage of Arctic-Apps will feature an interactive iceberg design that visually represents the dual nature of the app: the visible tip of the iceberg symbolizes the customer-facing features, while the submerged portion represents the business-facing functionalities.

Key Features:

  1. 3D Iceberg Animation: The iceberg will rotate and shift slightly as users hover over it, creating a dynamic and engaging experience.
  2. Section Highlights: Clicking on the tip of the iceberg will reveal customer-focused features, while clicking on the submerged portion will unveil business-focused tools.
  3. Micro-Interactions: Subtle animations, such as rippling water effects and glowing highlights, will guide users to explore different sections.
  4. Color Transitions: The iceberg will subtly shift colors (from light blue to deep blue) based on the time of day, creating a living, breathing design.
  5. Call-to-Action: Prominent buttons (e.g., "Explore Customer Features" and "Explore Business Tools") will be integrated into the design for easy navigation.

This concept ensures that the homepage is not only visually stunning but also intuitively communicates the app's dual functionality.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • Performance: The system should handle up to 10,000 concurrent users with minimal latency.
  • Scalability: The architecture must support future expansion, including additional features and user growth.
  • Security: Implement robust encryption for data storage and transmission to protect user information.
  • Localization: Support for Indian languages and regional preferences.
  • Accessibility: Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards for accessibility.
