System Requirements Document (SRD)

Project Name: amber-code

1. Introduction

The amber-code project aims to deliver a visually engaging and interactive application that utilizes XML layouts and Java code for implementation. The design will incorporate a "tiles" theme for its user interface while explicitly excluding the use of usernames in its functionality. This document outlines the system requirements, design concepts, and technical specifications for the project.

2. System Overview

The amber-code application is designed to provide a seamless user experience with a tile-based theme. It will feature a flow that begins with a splash screen and progresses through a dashboard, song list, gameplay, and result screen. The application will also include a settings section for theme customization. The exclusion of usernames ensures a focus on anonymous user interaction, enhancing privacy and simplicity.

3. Functional Requirements

  • As a User, I should be able to navigate through the splash screen to the dashboard.
  • As a User, I should be able to select songs from a song list displayed in a tile-based layout.
  • As a User, I should be able to play the selected song in a gameplay mode.
  • As a User, I should be able to view my score and progress on the result screen.
  • As a User, I should be able to customize the theme and appearance in the settings section.
  • As a User, I should not be required to input a username at any stage of the application.

4. User Personas

1. Player

  • Description: Engages with the application to play games and view scores.
  • Needs: Easy navigation, visually appealing interface, and theme customization options.

2. Administrator

  • Description: Manages backend configurations and ensures smooth operation of the application.
  • Needs: Access to logs, performance metrics, and user analytics (without usernames).

5. Visuals Colors and Theme

Color Palette

The amber-code project will feature a unique color palette inspired by the reference image provided:

  • Background: #0A0F3D (Deep Navy Blue)
  • Surface: #1E2A5A (Dark Blue)
  • Text: #FFFFFF (White)
  • Accent: #4D9FFF (Bright Azure Blue)
  • Muted Tones: #6A7BAF (Soft Indigo)

Theme Options

  1. Azure: #4D9FFF
  2. Blossom: #FF6F91
  3. Midnight: #1E2A5A
  4. Neon: #00FFAB

6. Signature Design Concept

Interactive Tile-Based Dashboard

The homepage will feature an interactive tile-based dashboard where each tile represents a key functionality (e.g., Play Game, Song List, Settings).

  • Animation: Tiles will subtly glow and pulse when hovered over, creating a dynamic and engaging effect.
  • Transitions: Smooth sliding animations will occur when navigating between screens.
  • Micro-Interactions: Clicking on a tile will trigger a ripple effect that spreads across the tile's surface.
  • Background: A living galaxy-inspired background with twinkling stars and subtle color shifts based on the selected theme.
  • Gameplay Screen: The tiles will dynamically change color based on the rhythm of the song being played.

This design ensures the application is visually captivating and memorable, leaving a lasting impression on users.

7. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The application must load within 2 seconds on standard devices.
  • The UI must be responsive across different screen sizes.
  • The system must support theme customization without requiring a restart.
  • The application must ensure data privacy by avoiding the use of usernames.

8. Tech Stack

Frontend

  • React Native for mobile app development.

Backend

  • Python with FastAPI for API development.

Database

  • MySQL for structured data storage, using Alembic for migrations.

AI Tools

  • Litellm for LLM routing.
  • Langchain for advanced AI integrations.

Local Orchestration

  • Docker and docker-compose for containerization.

Server-Side Orchestration

  • Kubernetes for deployment and scaling.

9. Assumptions and Constraints

Assumptions

  • Users will prefer anonymous interaction without usernames.
  • The tile-based theme will enhance user engagement.
  • The application will primarily target mobile platforms.

Constraints

  • The application must adhere to the provided visual reference.
  • The system must avoid storing any personally identifiable information.
