Signature Design Concept

The Cafe's website will feature an interactive "Garden of Flavors" homepage. Users will navigate through a virtual garden where each plant represents a menu category. Hovering over a plant reveals a preview of dishes, and clicking on it opens a detailed view. The garden will subtly change colors based on the time of day, using gsap for smooth transitions and animations. Additionally, the hero section will include a 3D animation using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei, where users can interact with a floating 3D model of a dish or ingredient, enhancing the immersive experience.

Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will use a "parallax" interaction model, creating a layered depth effect as users scroll through the garden. Decorative elements like leaves and flowers will move at different speeds, enhancing the immersive experience. Internal pages will maintain a "static" model for clarity and ease of use.

Non-Functional Requirements

  • The website should load within 3 seconds on standard broadband connections.
  • It should be accessible and usable on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • The website must comply with local accessibility standards for visually impaired users.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React for Web
  • Backend: Python with FastAPI
  • Database: MySQL or MariaDB, using Alembic for migrations
  • Local Orchestration: Docker and docker-compose
  • Server-side Orchestration: Kubernetes

Assumptions and Constraints

  • The website will primarily target users in India, considering local time zones and currency.
  • The cafe's menu and reservation system will be managed by the admin through a secure backend interface.

Glossary

  • CTA: Call to Action
  • Admin: The person responsible for managing the website's content and user interactions.
  • Parallax: A design technique that creates an illusion of depth by moving background images slower than foreground images.
