bySoumyadeep Bohidar

Project Goal: Create a comprehensive, highly interactive, and all-encompassing web platform dedicated to the FIFA World Cup. The platform will serve as the ultimate hub for fans, providing live scores, news, player/team statistics, predictions, media (highlights, training videos, fan reactions), and a personalized notification system. Crucially, the platform will feature an intelligent AI assistant capable of answering any question related to the World Cup. Target Audience: Die-hard football fans, casual viewers, fantasy football players, and sports bettors looking for real-time data, insights, and engaging content. Core Features & Technical Requirements: 1. Live Match Center & Data Feed Requirement: Integrate a robust sports data API (e.g., Sportmonks, API-Sports, or Entity Sport) to fetch real-time data. Features: Live Scores & Play-by-Play: Real-time updates with latency under 15 seconds. Display goals, cards, substitutions, and VAR decisions. Comprehensive Schedules & Brackets: Interactive tournament bracket, group stage standings, and upcoming fixtures (filtered by date, team, or group). Deep Statistics: Player profiles, team stats, historical head-to-head data, expected goals (xG), and possession metrics. Lineups & Formations: Pre-match expected lineups and confirmed starting XIs with tactical formations. UI/UX: Use responsive widgets (or build custom React/Vue components) that look like a professional broadcast overlay (similar to ESPN or official FIFA trackers). 2. News, Injuries & Predictions Hub Requirement: Aggregate content using a News API (like SportsDataIO or Highlightly) and a predictions engine. Features: Real-time News Feed: Latest articles, transfer rumors, and official announcements. Injury Tracker: A dedicated section showing player availability, injury types, and expected return dates. AI Predictions & Odds: Pre-match and live odds (1x2, Over/Under) from major bookmakers, alongside AI-driven match predictions and percentage chances based on team form and stats. 3. Multimedia Hub (Video & Social) Requirement: Integrate with YouTube/Vimeo APIs and social media embeds. Features: Highlights & Quickfires: Official short-form match highlights (e.g., pulling from sources like Zee5 or official broadcasters). Behind the Scenes: Curated feeds of training sessions, press conferences, and locker room footage. Fan Zone: Curated fan reaction videos, vlogs, and trending social media posts (X/Twitter, TikTok, Instagram embeds). 4. The "World Cup Guru" (AI Chatbot Assistant) Requirement: Build a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) chatbot (using OpenAI GPT-4, Claude 3, or similar, perhaps via platforms like Chatref or customized solutions). Capabilities: Knowledge Base: Ingest the live API data, historical FIFA World Cup data, rulebooks, and the daily news feed. User Interactions: The bot must be able to answer: "What time does Brazil play today?" "Who is leading the Golden Boot race?" "Explain the offside rule based on the last VAR decision." "What are the historical stats between Argentina and Germany?" Persona: Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and unbiased football expert. 5. Personalized Notification System Requirement: Build a user authentication system with email/push notification capabilities (using tools like Firebase, SendGrid, or Twilio). Features: Sign-up Flow: Users register via email or social login. Preferences Dashboard: Users select their favorite teams, favorite players, and preferred notification types (e.g., Match Start, Goals, Final Score, Breaking Injury News). Delivery: Send a daily or weekly email digest of upcoming schedules. Trigger mobile push notifications (or SMS) 15 minutes before a selected match starts, and real-time alerts for major events (goals, red cards) during the game.

7. Signature Design Concept

The FIFA APP will feature an interactive "World Cup Stadium" homepage. Users will navigate through a 3D stadium environment where each section represents a different feature of the app. Using @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei, users can click on different parts of the stadium to access live scores, news, multimedia content, and the AI chatbot. The stadium will dynamically change lighting and crowd animations based on real-time match events, creating an immersive experience.

8. Interaction Model & Motion Direction

The landing page will feature a realistic football field as the background, enhanced with animated effects to create an immersive experience. The landing page will utilize a "parallax" interaction model, with layered depth via scroll. Decorative elements like crowd animations and stadium lights will translate at different speeds, while real content scrolls naturally. Internal pages will maintain a "static" interaction model for clarity and ease of navigation.

9. Non-Functional Requirements

  • The platform must handle high traffic volumes during peak match times without latency issues.
  • Ensure data security and user privacy, particularly for user authentication and notifications.
  • The system should be scalable to accommodate future expansions and additional features.
