System Configuration
Customize Cognosis behavior, memory policies, model routing, and system parameters.
Cognitive Core – Model Selection
Choose the AI model source for core reasoning. Local models keep data private; cloud models offer additional power.
Routing Strategy
Decide how queries are distributed between local and cloud models.
Inference Parameters
Control the output style, creativity, and length of model responses.
Memory Buffer Settings
Configure short‑term memory capacity and how text is split into chunks.
Memory Retention Settings
Control how long memories persist and how they decay over time.
Memory Recall Settings
Fine-tune how the system retrieves memories and adapts recall sensitivity.
Agency Learning Settings
Configure reinforcement learning algorithm and exploration parameters.
Daemon Management
Manage the persistent daemon process, its self-model updates, and life logs.
Daemon configuration options will be available in a future update. You can currently start, stop, and view the daemon status from the CLI.
Security & Privacy
Manage API keys, encryption settings, and data retention policies.
Security configuration will be added in the next release. For now, please store your API keys in the .env file and ensure proper firewall rules.
Danger Zone
Irreversible actions such as resetting all memories or restarting the cognitive core.
These actions are currently available only via the CLI. Use caution: clearing the vector database cannot be undone.
