Drag a node — it snaps to the 8 pt grid3 lanes · 6 elements
Capability ledger
Assign every element to a lane so responsibilities are explicit. Entered once, the lane reads as a sticky vertical strip on the canvas.
Place a rounded-rectangle action for each step the process performs, then set its ID and lane assignment in the inspector.
Model what crosses a lane or organizational boundary with an envelope-corner message, drawn in desaturated slate.
Connect elements in order. Each edge is a hairline, and the selected path draws on with a 2px tangerine stroke.
Split and merge paths with a true 45° rotated square. Set OR, AND or XOR inside, and the decision logic stays legible on the wire.
Collapse a dense section of the model into a dashed-border sub-process and keep the detailed diagram behind it.
process-designer is a drafting table for the people who document and inspect how work actually flows — not a general-purpose drawing tool.
Lanes, actions, messages, sequence arrows, or/and operators and sub-processes — laid out on one canvas, saved for next time.
